Oh, it's the Stim Shot from CoD...

I mean, I doubt CoD was the first to do it...

They had the self-healing version in 2042, which I honestly enjoyed. If they want to try and confine people to team-supporting roles though, I'm all for it. Teamwork was rather disparate in 2042, mostly happening out of convenience. There were countless times where medics fucking ran around lone-wolfing without reviving anyone. If these changes can curb that and make it more team-centric, it has my vote.

So I caved and also bought BF3 for nostalgia reasons (BF3 turns 15 next year, man im old.) , there are live servers but what that one guy said about 20-30 people being in queue is correct and it's fucking ridiculous.

anyone else want to tell me if hardline or BFV are worth it?

Pre-loading the open beta just started today.

BFV has been pretty solid for a while. Pretty much by the time the game's update cycle was over it was a proper battlefield game. Hardline was fun, but I doubt you'll really find games for it. Here are the player numbers for each active battle field from least populated over 24 hours to most, this is with the bump in popularity that BF6's beta has given the games as well as the sale. I'd recommend V or 1 if anything

I'll buy BFV then and maybe hardline since it's also 4$, thanks

Most BF3 servers are German BTW, the two US servers are full

Edit: I just had a level 55 player on a BF1 offical EA quick match server say "niggers" and "EA is a company cock full of faggots" so I guess they learned their lesson on banning people. The texts containing the word "nigger" were removed from the chat 1 minute later but he's still playing. I will keep people posted as I play more BF games.

I can't judge too hard since I am more of a COD guy than a Battlefield guy, but hearing people say "Well, I might as well buy BF1 or BFV!" is like saying that you will buy Vanguard or MW6(also known as III or 2023) because you feel nostalgic for when the franchise was "good". I dunno, at this point I would just give 2 a shot at best since that's when the franchise was actually good and it has mods. Maybe 3 was also good, I can't say I am familiar with the game as much but I have recently been looking footage of it over and it doesn't impress me. Feels more like nostalgia to me, "you had to be there to understand" kind of thing, and well, I just wasn't there. I do own it on the 360 tho(being given away for free years ago) so I might give it a shot. I think this is the peak of the franchise, there might have been good games before that point, but this was also the last time Battlefield was a serious competitor to COD.

BF1 and BFV tho? Yeah, that's just stockholm syndrome talking, I don't care that these are the most active entries. Halo 5 and Halo Infinite are also more active than fan-run servers for Halo 2 or 3 but I doubt any Halo fan will tell you they're superior or even worth the money. If I had a gun held to my head, I would unironically play 2042 over these two since at least there was some experimentation done with 2042 that you don't see in BF1 or BFV, BF1 specifically I think is vastly overrated and only has the reputation it does because so many people were tired of COD when it came out(kind of like with BF6, history repeats I guess).

Because BF1 and BFV are good and are on sale? The games were fine at the end of their life span, and most people who played V specificially thought it could have thrived if given an extra year of content like 2042 was.
I will have to take your word for it, cause they look extremely overrated, mid at best. BF1 especially is just a modern day BF game with a very poorly applied WW1 paintjob and yet plays nothing like a WW1 game. Why even bother at this point? COD does a better job pretending they make historical games and they have fucking Snoop Dogg in Vanguard. It would be one thing if BF1 played like a proper WW1 military shooter, but for that I can just play Isonzo.
Considering how the devs treated their fans, tho? Yeah, giving them money now because "the game is good after a bajillion updates" is just pure stockholm syndrome

But hey, it's your money I guess

2042 is a piece of shit that is way less fun than 1 or V
People said the same thing about Black Ops 4, and yet I have over a thousand hours in that game and it is arguably the last fun COD ever made. Opinions on MW2019 are mixed but what can't be argued is how fast the franchise fell off the cliff shortly after it's "comeback", and that started even before the next game came out. BO4 tried something different, just like 2042, and despite many people not liking it, I found it fantastic and maybe 2042 could potentially be my jam. I say "potentially" since I am never giving EA or DICE a single cent, but at least there is a chance I could enjoy it, vs the world's most inaccurate WW1 game in name only or the world's most generic WW2 shooter that hates it's fanbase. Did I mention Battlefield 1942 exists if I ever want to play a WW2 Battlefield game for any reason? There was 1943 too but I think that one is lost media by now for years(even before it was removed from the storefronts the servers shut down, if I recall correctly).

lmao it's like 3 dollars get over it. I will agree with you that DICE treats their fans like shit, but I will also point out that COD's devs have been doing the same thing for a while, like i'm suprised at how quickly you just forgot that Vanguard existed.

If I was told to pay 3 dollars to get shit in my mouth, I still wouldn't do it, but I can't stop anyone else. It just boggles the mind people go for that piece of shit when, once again, 1942 exists and the game doesn't hate it's fanbase every step of the way.
Also, Vanguard was made by Sledgehammer games and they are the worst COD studio. Only the dumbest motherfuckers actually like them, as they are not only the most woke studio of the bunch(I got a whole folder of their virtue signaling from twitter) but they also make the worst games, not sure if they're worse than DICE but they are both definitely in the same category, especially BF5 era DICE. At least we know who is more incompetent, as Sledgehammer recently lost their right as a mainline studio and went back to being a support studio, not allowed to make anymore new games.

What was wrong with Battlefield 1 (from your experience?) I cannot speak for PC; I know EA doesn't maintain their own PC titles after their lifecycle has passed. I thought it was a great Battlefield title in its own regard, when it was active. Yes, it takes creative liberties with its WW1 setting for preserving its gameplay loop (anarchistic automatic weapons available in multiplayer, that female cover art for its premium edition) but DICE executed its authenticity well for a oft-forgotten world war to blend it into Battlefield.

BFV are good and are on sale? The games were fine at the end of their life span, and most people who played V specificially thought it could have thrived if given an extra year of content like 2042 was.
If V wasn't buggy, I'd say it was a good, not GREAT Battlefield title. That fortification gimmick to build, not destroy, added a wrinkle of depth to the Battlefield formula. That Pacific War update added some life to it, but EA/DICE still stuck with their historical inaccuracies from their comically loud Japanese infantry and operator bundles.

BF3's console servers have been axed a while back, so most you'll have is the campaign. (Well, unless you have a PS3, I believe somebody is working on a revival project for that title as well.)

What is it with battlefield community servers and being run by the most extreme control freaks on the planet? I just left a BFV server where the rules were:

No Satire
No Political Speech
No Tea Bagging

It's not just one game either.

BFV is fun but I can see why Hell Let Loose and MW2019 stole their lunch in the next year.

I'll go ahead and buy hardline as well since I heard the dead space devs made it. Edit: nvm, it's really not worth it.
