Battletech - Also known as Trannytech

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
It's really convenient thanks to the numbers on the hexes... but is there a preferred method to do it with, say, deep cut studio gaming matts? They don't have numbers in their hex fields, sadly.
What I did is take a very fine point felt pen and mark down a grid-coordinate on each hex, number-letter style. It's tedious, but it's one nights work, and it save you the hassle of trying to count hexes.

I was rather opposed to AS when it came out, but mostly cause I already got ripped off by MW:DA.

AS being a rule-light version of cBT certainly is a nice option, even though I've never tried it out. You got the choice between a really in-depth simulation-like game or a quick streamlined version... and I guess having this choice can never be a bad thing.

Na theres nothing wrong with that, but the option to play it a bit faster is always nice and AS does do that for peeps.
Oh, I know, I know. Not shitting on getting battalion-scale play done in a reasonable time, either. I certainly wouldn't want to spend god knows how long in full BT rolling dice for all that.

Managed to pick a Wolf’s Dragoon’s pack at Barnes and Noble. Dear god the Annihilator is slow.

2/3 movement is basically "slightly mobile turret"
2/3 movement is shorthand for "hope the other guy is coming to you because you ain't goin' anywhere".

Basically, you want every battle to be this:

The alpha strike card is 4 inches. Should I get sleeves for those btw?
I've got mine laminated, that way I can use dry erase markers on them.

Seems like trading card sleeves would get the same result with less hassle.
They would, but I like overengineering my solutions. Also, laminating means the plastic stays in place no matter what and I like that when I'm filling in pips.

I also printed my cards about 25% larger, so it's three per A4 sheet. I just like 'em chonky like that because it gives me more space to print/write unit info and fluff on the back.

It takes a real special pilot to advance on an Annie really but it's supposed to be a super-Urbie anyway

Yo folks do realize that the AS cards are already dry erase compatible?

Also @Takayuki Yagami if you want to try proxing other mechs go to http://www.masterunitlist.info/ not only is the site pretty useful to see what factions fielded what during the different eras but you can build forces for both AS and CBT...Its more useful for AS since when you go to print the sheets it also prints off the cards for each of the mechs. It won't print Record Sheets for CBT though.

Annies are the glass cannons of the Assault Class, not much armor and all firepower. Try to utilize terrain for defense bonuses and use it as an area of denial mech. Unless its the 1X......

So if I were to switch that out in a game of Alpha Strike for the Awesome or Battlemaster that came in the armord combat box, which would be the better option to keep things well rounded? The battlemaster goes further and has back mounted weapons, but the Awesome is range agnostic.

Keep spending your life by refreshing my profile, liking and responding every post I will make.
You will forever follow me and think about me because you are my abused dog.
The gender shit was thankfully low-key and barely there but shouldn't have been a thing in the first place. You can ignore it. Every pilot is fully customisable so you can change it all anyway. Battletech had a lot of other issues besides the tranny game dev.

Murad is fucking jarring, but at least she's easy enough to ignore.
