Battletech - Also known as Trannytech

I'm pretty hype for this. For my table top night being close to Halloween, I am making a story game it's like the old Wolf Dragoons plot where they find some old Mackies, but add haunting.

Are there any major tech upgrades you could give a Mackie that would make it worth the 100 tons?

Too many blacks.
"Superior gene stock" my ass. "Where the white clanners at? What's up my Clanner?" I'll try it when Fitgirl or csrinru "shares" it. Though to be fair BT was filled with diversity long before the pozzers came in, and even then it wasn't bad at the time because they actually had good writers usually rather than shoving them in for the sake of it. Also your name reminds me of a recent event of a Fuklaw Barotrauma modder that got community banned lol.

It isn't necessarily that they are actually superior, it's more they think they are superior. Kinda like some of them in real life thinking they are better for arbitrary or retarded reasons. Definitely better genetics if you want retarded violent soldiers obsessed with honor and constantly chimping out violently.
I agree with the rest of your post, however, and I do think it is just shoehorned in from what I see in the trailer.

The only relative success of the Clan genetic program is the Elemental. Their Aerospace program was (in lore of course) a failure and their Mechwarrior program is essentially a religion, not a planned project. Their brutal training regime is what gives them an edge and forces you to pay the 3/4 tax.

There are hints that the Scientist Caste does know that it's all gibberish and merely kept it up to entertain the warriors until the Society uprising, and real freaky stuff is suggested like the Genecaste. After all, Battletech is stupid and nothing in the Clan way of life makes any sense, but they're fun nonetheless. Clan Smoke Jaguar being chock-full of rabid nogs is kinda in-character, always remember that their last proper Scary Black Man Khan got decapitated by Davion Man with a katana. It's in their blood.

Also, what are good Comstar Mechs that we got in plastic (so Forcepacks) outside of the Battle/Command Level II?

Oh I know, it was my poor attempt at a joke. That's the thing with the clans, high and mighty which to be fair is warranted due to their overwhelming tech advantage only to be humbled into the ground by a telecom company. This is why Freeborn tend to just be better in the end and even get entrusted with higher positions iirc.

I don't think so, best you can do is find other mechs and do whatever you can to make them Comstar mechs, or 3D print.

Which is even dumber than usual for BattleTech lore basic eugenics is trivial for most desirable traits like IQ and even reletively gentle selections can vastly "improve" a populations IQ in only a small handful of generations.

From left to right we have Lincoln Osis, Leo Showers, and Sarah Weaver, all of whom were (emphasis on the past tense) very high ranking and esteemed members of Clan Smoke Jaguar. As other people have mentioned, Clan Smoke Jaguar really is Clan Nig Nog (also known as Clan War Crimes), best exemplified by their nasty habit of chimping out and wrecking everything when things don't go their way, such as the "Battle" of Turtle Bay where they put down a riot by turning a few million people to ash and cinders via orbital bombardment. There's a reason that the rest of the Clans just stood by and let Task Force Serpent wipe them all out.

The real issue is how PGI is going to avoid the inevitable racism accusations when said war crimes start piling up. "MechWarrior, some fools in the nearby city have shot at our BattleMechs with small arms. You are hereby ordered to raze the entire city as a message to any who would continue to resist."

That would actually be somewhat interesting at least, getting deployed in a light anti-infantry mech like the Firestarter, plopped down in a city, and told to suppress guerilla resistance. Oops there's a guy with a rocket launcher in the orphanage, what do you do? Then follow up with a news report detailing how many war crimes were committed that day.

Okay, but that would be fun, especially since people online would be competing to show off their high scores.

We won't get that, but we will get a Clan War Crimes that's been heavily sanitized of the Burn Loot Murder deeds they're infamous for. Hell, their capital city is even named "Lootera" as if you needed any more of an indication of what Saturday morning cartoon villains these guys are supposed to be.

Why wouldn't a warrior aristocracy name their capitol city after what "makes the boys git up an' shoot."

Because something something honor something something glory.

Besides, in Clan lingo that sort of thing is known more properly as isorla (Individuals, Salvage OR LAnd).

At least 40k's Orks only care about the WAAAGGGHHH and the lootin' is explicitly in service of carrying it out. Orks have no need for illusions of honor, for they are the meanest and the greenest.

BTA 3049 is probably your best bet. But there's only so much that can be done considering what a hot mess BattleTech itself is under the hood.
In a way the hot mess that is the Battletech video game is an homage to the lore itself because it is a machine that will never be fully understandable or accessible to those who make ad-hoc modifications to it to make it battle worthy. It will also invariably overheat (memory leak)
