Battletech - Also known as Trannytech

Because something something honor something something glory.

Besides, in Clan lingo that sort of thing is known more properly as isorla (Individuals, Salvage OR LAnd).
At least 40k's Orks only care about the WAAAGGGHHH and the lootin' is explicitly in service of carrying it out. Orks have no need for illusions of honor, for they are the meanest and the greenest.
Do none of you people recognize Kipling?

BTA 3049 is probably your best bet. But there's only so much that can be done considering what a hot mess BattleTech itself is under the hood.
Do you mean BTA3062 or the other modpack I can't remember the name of but is pretty close? Battletech Extended 3049 maybe?

I know it was Roguetech, BTA, and... the other one being the big 3, with each being significantly different goals than the other. Roguetech I like, I don't like loading it and taking 10 minutes on god's own CPU and SSD to load, then it shitting itself after 1 or 2 missions that take an hour each cause of how slow everything is. The other two I think I've played a little of, but IIRC one has gotten nearly as bloated as Roguetech in recent years.

I don't play BattleTech since the last time I did the game was on the verge of imploding and I wound up with a convoy raid with the vehicles faster than my mostly-stock light and medium 'Mechs, so...

I think BTE 3049 is the one I meant since IIRC out of the Big Three its the easiest on the RAM due to having the fewest relative changes.
In a way the hot mess that is the Battletech video game is an homage to the lore itself because it is a machine that will never be fully understandable or accessible to those who make ad-hoc modifications to it to make it battle worthy. It will also invariably overheat (memory leak)
Reminds me of that emwattnot meme:
"I've finally fixed the overheating problem."
"Unless I've actually made it worse."

Rogue tech is a bit too much for me (and far too much for my old PC).

So tomorrow mw5 drops. I am not going to ask anyone to hold spoilers but I'm busy for a bit and having fun irl so I'll probably be way late on playing.

I am barely half into space marine 2 ffs. I will be at my table top night tomorrow instead of alone playing Vidya.

I did want to do ghosty story but black marauder we all know. So yeah group of up and coming mercs find some mackies (maybe another primitive) and they are alive... 3025 specs and as the battle opens a lucky shot removes the cockpit from the one Mackie

Duh duh dfunnnn it doesn't stop no pilot. 2spooky4me.

Eh I wrote it out in 10 mins.

Clans is out and I'm downloading it. Looks like reviews are suggesting it's good, new engine is great, but no procedurally generated content is a problem and the UI is iffy at times. Also, it's on game pass day 1 so...

5 was criticized for having too much procedurally-generated content at launch, so I'm not surprised they went the other way.

Going to wait a bit for a sale and mods to come out, not that excited for it now.

>Clans released
>Mixed (I don't care if it just released, most of the time just released games are glazed)
PGI at its finest, how those fucking muppets got the license to make Mechwarrior to begin and how they even to do it again is beyond me. Probably a "x amount of games" contract. I mean look at the fuck up that was MWO, they clearly demonstrated that they have no understanding of Battletech, Mechwarror, or good multiplayer games and it showed, yet they still got to make MW5 and it was an utter disaster. Now they get to make ANOTHER game?

Ah, no wonder, this is the audience they're catering to. This was hilariously retarded then, it's hilariously retarded now. "Games never came out in full working order, EVER! It's not the fault of the people making it or the people funding it and setting the conditions, WE are the ones making it bad!" At least the comment (I can't directly link it sadly but it's on the first page) after it has far more brain cells to work with than this niggercattle. It only really took the latest review to sell me that they just shit the bed once again and didn't learn, in fact they unlearned.

I mean this guy is clearly a slop enjoyer but it's still sad to see his disappointment, but I'm also happy he's took off the blindfolds of nostalgia and realized that MW is fucked and it only took him less than an hour to realize this lol.

Looks kinda rough so far IMO, watching Big Red 40 Tech stream. (I don't know if there's some weird gay cuck drama with this guy, I just like his mech videos and saw he was live. Wanted an opinion without putting down money.)
UI looks clean and actually pretty good. Mech designs are also good as far as post MWO cookie cutter designs go. Levels look ok, AI on both sides seems like it could stand to be better though. Seems as well like Red 40 is getting pretty close to the enemies, nullifying his range advantages, might be level design or enemy AI though.
Characters are hideous, other castes wear nice fancy clean uniforms, not dirty jumpsuits or whatever you would expect for techs or stuff like that. One member of the sibko in the tutorial is some kind of swarthoid brownie while the rest of the group is white with blue eyes. Something about the face models looks off to me as well. Rather than doing the thing that MW:5 Mercs did where the character speaking in a mission just has a static picture to represent what he/she's saying, they use these really ugly and strange looking renders of the characters moving their head around as if they're looking around the cockpits.
Stuff in general just looks way too clean. Probably my favorite part of 80's and 90's sci-fi compared to modern shit is how dark, gritty, dirty, etc everything tends to be. This just reminds me of everything people hated about Halo 4 on a surface level appearance-wise.
Dialogue doesn't follow the clan format except for paying it the most basic lip service either. They only avoid contractions and use a few words like "Aff" and "Neg," but they otherwise speak normally, or as normally as the bugmen that work for game devs humans should speak. The way points within your star or other characters who speak in the middle of the mission is off-putting, they speak very slowly, as if to a retarded child, rather than the quick, snappy responses I would expect of humanity's most batshit insane bloodthirsty warriors. The scarred guy from the tutorial is not harsh enough to be a kit commander for Clan SJ. Needs more verbal and physical abuse to main character.
Very small mech roster, just the most common OmniMechs, only like 10 of them or so.
Gameplay itself looks ok, although that's going to be more subjective and actually playing the game will give everyone a more accurate opinion for himself.
Overall meh, game looks fat and I would not have sex with it. I'm sure there's also six million bugs that will take a bit to patch, and waiting for the sale is the way to go for those interested. These are also all autistic surface level details and there's likely more under the hood that I'm not noticing.

Kek. Also, I don't really know why people just don't pirate more if they're on the fence. We don't even own our games anymore so why buy them? More games need demos anyway.
Based on the cosmetic DLC, there are 16 mechs in the game. Of course, the MW5 Merc mechs are in the game, but you can't use those.
Probably going to be one of the first mods.

Kinda disappointed honestly but not surprised, will wait for a sale and hope it improves like mech 5 did

I've been playing it so far and it's not half bad from my experience.
I was worried at first because the training mission was very laggy, but the Trial of Position and every mission after that has worked just fine so far, so it must've just been a problem with the tutorial map specifically.
Outside of that hiccup, I've been enjoying it so far. The omnimechs are fun as hell to use [There's something really satisfying about being able to one-shot bugmechs with an Adder's dual ER PPC shot after all the annoyance those things gave me in Mercs.] and the omnipod system feels like a great improvement over the old variant system. [The best part is you can mix and match omnipods from different variants, meaning weapon slot types are no longer set in stone like in Mercs. For example, I was able to swap a Viper Prime's arm with its A variant, replacing its two ballistic slots with another pair of energy slots.]

Its time based, their licence runs out next year. But no one else seems to be clamoring to pick it up and Microsoft still gets money from it so they'll likely get to extent it again.

Whats this about mod support dropping off for MW5:Mercs?

So, its about as mediocre as everyone was expecting?
So far, yeah. The gameplay is alright (is MW5), I do like the tactical map and the scanning mode but the AI is still retarded, the mechlab is horribly designed but Dire Wolves are cool. It chugs terribly in some areas, the day one hotfix did improve some of the performance but it is still bad, the cinematics and voice acting is mixed, it looks like something that you would find in some UE5 slavjank. I'm half tempted to refund it and get it 6 months down the line.

That's disappointing but not unexpected, I am sorry to say.
