Battletech - Also known as Trannytech

Whats this about mod support dropping off for MW5:Mercs?
Modders weren't exactly hopping onto their computer to go fix their mods whenever a DLC dropped, and it's no secret that more and more people have stopped modding MW5 (even all together). Only really people who have stuck with the game ever since release or the early DLC stuck around and even they're dwindling, no big mods are really coming out, existing big mods are in maintenance mode if anything at all, there's really nothing more to make that hasn't been made or is not worth making. The only "big" mod that is still in development is the mod that makes buildings fully destructible rather than their outer layer.
So far, yeah. The gameplay is alright (is MW5), I do like the tactical map and the scanning mode but the AI is still retarded, the mechlab is horribly designed but Dire Wolves are cool. It chugs terribly in some areas, the day one hotfix did improve some of the performance but it is still bad, the cinematics and voice acting is mixed, it looks like something that you would find in some UE5 slavjank. I'm half tempted to refund it and get it 6 months down the line.
Another reason to pirate or to just wait an extra week. Day 1 and 2 purchases are silly.

I'm a sucker for PGI's Mechwarrior so I bought it, I'm enjoying it but it really can be best described as "more of the same", if you liked Mercs you'll like Clans. I really do only have one real gripe that wouldn't be an easy mod fix and thats the mechlab. UI is a passion of mine and PGI's MWO mechlab is absolutely peak, its very functional and easy to use and they madethe right choice in just using the same format for MW5's but for some reason they decided to move away from it to this weird menu based mechlab.

I forget when but it wasn't too long since MW5 released there was an update that changed a lot of the backend spaghetti code that made Navid A1 (the guy who did Reloaded, which YAML is based on) just straight up quit having had enough of PGI's incompetence.

I still plan on grabbing it but probably won't get it till about Thanksgiving, it's buggy to start as expected, I don't game much but I do kinda want to play with the omni features.

I'm sure when mods come, I'm looking at abusing the system and getting a 4 clan ERPPC awesome and DHS because fuck you and it'll look better than a hellstar.

You don't even need mods for that. You can already fit quad ERPPCs on a Warhawk or Direwolf. [A direwolf can fit more, but that would be impractical.] It'll core most mechs in 1-2 salvos, even other omnis. [The tricky part sometimes is landing each PPC burst on the center torso and not accidentally hitting the sides.]

The warhawk comes with a fixed targeting computer. The Warhawk Prime is on the short list for "Most lethal mech in all of battletech."

Because, say you want to make a called shot to the head? Well you've got four bites at the apple. And then you've got the Adder which could best be described as a "Pocket Warhawk."

I mean, it is a very autistic reason, it tracks perfectly for discord troons to fight each other and bring down their own projects.
Well its more in the lines that they are both right and wrong as there is a mixture of Battlemechs that don't have your standard cockpits.

But yeah still funny as shit that this happened.

So, for those unaware, BattleTech Pride is now seemingly at an end.
The cause? Something perfectly, autistically, BattleTech, that being an argument over whether or not BattleMechs have windows.
>Has to be told whether Battlemechs have windows or not
>Uses Sarna as a primary source
As if we needed more proof these people have never actually opened a Battletech book before.

Do Battlemech have windows?
Uhh did you see the cockpit you idiot?
Jesus Christ these people are dumb. Must be all that troonshine melting their brain
Don't forget that retard Bryan Young having to be corrected by Stackpole himself on whether Anastasius Focht was a tranny.

Cripes, I remember the bit from the book almost to the letter. Phelan's discussing his research with Ulric Kerensky, and the bit about the sex change is tossed in as part of Phelan's analysis. As it turns out, Phelan was able to figure out exactly who Focht was and he wasn't a tranny, lol.

I'm guessing their ADD-addled brains came in from Titanfall or Gundam.

Yes, the pilot is sitting behind the eye on an Atlas. It's a fucking window.

I think the only "Mechs" that don't have windows are Protomechs. Because the pilot is literally holed inside the torso and sees through the sensors. The only real Mech that doesnt have a window might be the Gestalt

This is by far the stupidest thing to die on.
Why the term “windows?” Why that term and not portal or canopy? Because if they’re using the term window interchangeably with canopy, then it’s the dumbest hill to die on that I’ve ever heard of.

Because in the art and the fiction, mechs clearly have canopies.

No those giant cockpits are just decorative it's not like one needs to see to pilot something. Anyone who has actually played even the video games knows that battlemechs have cockpits and how a lucky shot can kill. People need to gatekeep harder and tell the troons to go back to gundam as unlike battlemechs, gundams do not have windows.

There are a few mechs without windows. Specifically the ones with the cockpit in the center torso.

Quite literally so retarded or grifting so hard they don't even look at the fucking mechs.
They are discord trannies and Twitterati, the last time they saw a Mech was in a pornographic drawing.

These niggas probably think that BattleTech peaked at the Dark Age and IllClan era.

It peaked with the FedCom Civil war era, don't @ me.
