Battletech - Also known as Trannytech

Don't let anyone tell you that you need battlefists to make punching worth it. Skewering the engineblock with your PPC arms is twice as cool.

Fist Fire is fun when you hit you can proceed to do an attack with one of the weapons to do extra damage. You do have to have a fist (We ruled it that you can do it as long as your mech can punch but you suffer %25 of the damage rounded up from the weapons fire) and it hits the same location to.

So if you punch a mech with a Gauss rifle and lands a head shot you can point blank fire the Gauss rifle and if it hits. Well goodbye mech.

Neat. Is that in Tac Ops or a house rule?
There is a rule in Tac Ops specifically for retractable blades that lets you get a free critical hit if you land a punch with your blade retracted. Basically lets you have a ghetto pilebunker.

The main rule is in the Campaign Operations. We just house ruled it that if you don't have fists you take a 25% damage to the arm because your literally point blanking the shot.

I just received my McArron's Armored Cavalry Assault Lance Force Pack and to my shock one of the cards that is in it is Faith McCarron (AKA Ace Kaller, AKA The Stalker)

Which is funnier since one of the SPA is Blood Stalker.

Haven't been on in months.
I know ;(

So we Thursday had our last year game night. Our host/GM made a Rudolf leading the reindeer santa VIP game. It was hilarious also he got a gift and we killed two bottles of REALLY good whiskey. The reindeer were pixies and Rudolf was a LAM. Super out gunned. 4 of us so we ran 12 pixies, total (unlike the song) he played OF. guiding a retreat. We all were any pixie we wanted as long as JJ plus the LAM. Santa was an Orion. He threw everything at us, areo, vees PBI, mechs.

We all drank way too much and were laughing a ton. I love my group good people.

Also don't worry santa came back safe, we're all getting toys.

The OF was mostly evil meme's like hellstars etc. He did an awesome job where it was really about the dice and some thought.

Does MegaMek have a tutorial or something that shows you how the table top game works? I've honestly always been curious to give the table top game a try -- I came into Battletech through MechWarrior 3 & 4 -- but never knew anyone to play it with.

Not really, it can't just print the rules verbatim because they already walk a fine line. You can kinda vaguely figure out the rules from playing but not everything will be super clear. Your best bet is to stumble across the rule book on the open sea and play a few games while referencing the rules if you want to use megamek.

Be careful however the bot is a cruel fucker if you don't understand how to run circles around it so you might need to give yourself an advantage. I'd say make sure your BV is greater than it's by a sizable portion (50%) and you'll have enough gun and armor to club it down while learning instead of getting deleted from mechs you don't really know how to fight. Or just schedule a game with one of us, I'm sure someone here better than me can set up a learning game for you.

This guy on Youtube, I forget who, suggested spawning a train car or something that doesn't move on a bot team and playing around with the movement to learn how it works generally. There's probably also a few good video tutorials out there going over the basics of playing the game as well.

MW5 clans is a genuinely bad game and its largely due to piranha's freeborn bias and trying to get people to never want any clan content ever again.
Way too many trash mobs and not enough repair bays and ammo drops. Its like whatever discord trannies worked on the game learned about the WW2 phrase "behind every blade of grass there would be a gun" and took it literally. Replacing guns with heavy and assault mechs to the point its just bad fanfiction. SOKOLs need to be removed from the game as they are armored core bosses and don't belong in the slower paced battletech.

The first boss of AC6 for comparison:

I dont care about whatever their sperging over Edo is for because whatever slaughter of civilians they keep attempting to guilt trip the player about does not happen in game and there are no civilians even in cutscenes. I seriously doubt the "rioters"/company of heavy lances with air support and heavily armed dropships were "peaceful" or "innocent" by any stretch of the imagination. Fighting for your life against foes that outnumber and outgun you does make you "become a monster" by any means. All I knew coming into this game was that smoke jaguar were the bad guys that took over Port Arthur in mechcommander gold. Not whatever leftist guilt tripping bullshit this was about.

I mean yeah? While the Clans had all the advantage the IS had to pull everything out of their ass to stop them and there not a firm believer of "Muh Honor." and if you thought that whole initial spam of mechs where bad imagine facing of against Comstar forces during the Battle of Tukayyid.

They didn't bomb the city because of the resistance that was put up, they bombed it out of spite because they had the heir of the Combine and he escaped and put a major blemish on their "Honor."
