Bayonetta 3 - What Moon themed song they gonna pick this time

If she's in a union and signed a contract - Platinum can't do much about it.

"Hey break your union contract, scab, get us both blackballed so we can give you more money". It's sad she thinks she outgrew union rates but that's not Platinum's business.
nooooo that cant be possible, union are le good and companies are le bad, reddit told me so. there's absolutely no reason why anyone would be against unions except loving big corporations

You all know that all this is going to amount to is Kamiya blocking fucking everyone (no changes here), Bayonetta 3 selling even more then before (I'm buying) and Taylor being blacklisted by the entire Japanese entertainment industry, which is a death sentence for a voice actress.
From what I've seen most of the internet (fuck you Jersh) thinks that this as a pretty obvious attempt to boost her profile in the industry, but instead its most likely gonna kill it.

Reminder that this is the guy who she is trying to go after.
The man gives no shits and I'm just waiting for him to just fly off the handle and dump all of the info regarding her behind the scenes

someone mentioned that Jennifer Hale seems to be active and liking/unliking posts on twitter as pointed out by native observers
tl;dr Jennifer Hale likes Kamiya's tweet, unlikes it, and starts liking other posts possibly suggesting she was also in the dark:

a few more posts from her likes, seemingly in line with the previous 2:

1st, 2nd, and current "likes" page
make of these what you will, this seemed like thread-worthy info

Been seeing an awful lot of this particular attitude on the Twatters yesterday and today. Whether it's in regards to the Bayo 3 thing, or the Gotham Knights thing, people will just consooome and defend their billion dollar corpos. It's actually kind of pathetic when you get down to it.

Gotta admit it was kind of funny seeing twitter trannies trying to dogpile Kamiya while knowing exactly how he'd react to it.

For those unaware, Kamiya is suspected to suffer from obsessive compulsive disorder and the way this manifests on Twitter is hilarious. He will genuinely get upset if he so much as gets an unwanted notification on the platform. Not to mention if you don't follow his "rules" he'll have a melty over that too. He was very very rigid over his Twitter engagement, and he'd regularly get into a huff even from replies in Japanese (English replies were an instant block, as per his "rules"). He'd also wake up in the middle of the night to reply to things so his hatred of unwanted notifications might be due to him having sound notifications on his phone. He also used the platform to simp for some Japanese woman he likes, who he's no longer following; I wonder if she blocked him because the trannies came after her too, that would really sting for him.

English speaking voice actors aren't good old fashioned workers fighting against the machine. They are the machine. The union they rally under in particular taxes quite a bit, relentlessly pushes their big names while blueballing indies and newbies (that might even be what happened this time), and has far too much overreach and control over the industries they infest. It doesn't matter if it was a big company or a small company who pissed them off (the latter would get assraped, so it's for the better that it wasn't a small company), the lot of them are bad actors in more ways than one and you should never take them at their word.

Not gonna lie, this game looked like garbage from the first reveal trailer. Hearing about this big stink points even more to the dev cycle being extremely troubled.

I blame Tencent, ever since they've gotten involved in Platinum as investors the company has been going to shit and producing shovelware title after shovelware title, it's a real shame considering that the last good game they made was astral chain, which was the perfect spiritual sequel to chaos legion, but I guess this is why we can't have nice things.

god I hate China.

I'm not sure how voice actors work nearly as much as the actual devs who spend years on making the games. Unless they're constantly going in for voicing characters, they're really not doing much.
Exactly this. Programmers, 3D and 2D artists, and even writing and musical departments in game studios often have a lot of overlap that melds into the functionality of the game. Most of the time all of these roles require some degree of familiarity with the engine in use in order to implement their respective contributions. VA's are cool, and even a necessary aspect to some games, but the effort stops beyond doing takes.

Except in very specific cases, voice actors will NEVER experience crunch time for their work. In fact, even for very short sessions, a lot of lines tend to end up on the cutting room floor, which is why a shit ton of games have unused voice lines sitting in the files.

So the OG actor pretty much just went nuclear on Twitter. Said the reason she's not back is because they didn't offer her enough money, is saying to boycott the game and also pretty much threw Hale under the bus.

I seriously doubt she was offered 4 grand. She probably demanded 100k or something and was told no so she decided to throw a tantrum. But even if she WAS offered 4 grand, she's getting 4 grand for maybe 5 days of recording lines at a sound booth in her own home. That's not exactly an Indonesian child getting paid 4 cents a day to stich together soccer balls with their knurled fingers

I was gonna just pirate but now I'm going to buy it just bc fuck this delusional British cunt

No doubt the Womxn™ who like the idea of Bayonetta but haven't actually played the game (and the """"women""" who have) are shitting up the internet with performative outrage as I type this. After all this drama is a great opportunity to grandstand and espouse the particularly retarded brand of feminism that's popular with unenrolled mental patients these days.
Yeah, they probably think the game is too hard.

Taylor being blacklisted is definitely on the table. Doing the >muh mental illness shtick and chimping out was a very stupid move, since it attracts Twatter users like flies to shit, and those really like being a nuisance or even danger to everyone. Kamiya being the underground lolcow that he is, proceeds to block every single one like always.
4k is pretty low, but this post explained it well, adding the fact that VAs can be replaced on a whim. I think (correct me if I'm wrong here) that "you can do your contract work and fuck off after" would be the general rule in this field of work. But breaking NDAs is another can of worms, which brings a lot of bigger issues. Will it escalate? I don't know. But if it does, it'll be interesting to watch.

I put my money on this chain of events:
>Taylor announcement
>Kamiya blocking everyone
>situation further escalates, if it doesn't, happening's over
>
:optimistic: Weeb twitter troon chimps out and doxes Cowmiya :optimistic:
>:optimistic: Kamiya goes "fuck this", airs Taylors dirty laundry and lolsuit happens. :optimistic:

Assuming that she is telling the truth. $4,000 is a ridiculously low amount and if I was in her shoes, I would be mad as well. That being said, I wouldn't throw a temper tantrum on twitter and try to undercut the other VA that's replacing me. It's one thing to let people know that the offer given to you was laughably low and it's another thing to try undercut the "new girl". It's ridiculously petty and retarded behavior. Just move on and look for other opportunities. I'm sure having a gig like being the voice of Bayonetta would fetch good VA opportunities somewhere.
Nigger its a fucking action game, she probably only had 30 minutes of dialogue and 5 of just grunts, this isnt a 100 hours fully voiced jrpg

It's easy to look at the situation and come to the conclusion that the English VA is just being entitled, greedy and narcissistic but I don't think that's fair. 4k is a lot of money for a few hours of work but work of VA's (actors in general) is hard to come by. It's not uncommon for a person in this industry to go months without any kind of work, I don't know enough about voice acting to know whether the deal Bayo's VA was offered good or not but I think there's more going on here.

Jennifer Hale has to cost more than 4k so I don't think this was a budget issue. I think Platinum wanted a new VA for the character for whatever reason but couldn't just make the choice, so they put the ball in the OG VA's court. Maybe there's a contractual obligation, maybe it's something else but I don't think this 4k offer was sincere.

Kamiya is a missive terminally online faggot who needs to get a grip, the fact he makes good games shouldn't absolve him of any criticism or mockery.

I heard so many good things about bayonetta I decided to give a try on steam and I was kinda dissapointed with the combat.

This game came out after dmc4, and after 4 god of war games but is significantly clunkier and shallower than either.

Its mostly button mashing with very few practical/functional combos or chains.

Idunno, relative to its contemporaries I dont get what it does that is noteworthy or better.

edit: if you disagree with me im genuinely curious, what does bayoneta do better or even equal to its contemporaries?
Bayonetta isn't a button masher. Learn what the combo chains do and what situations they are good for. It's all about getting to the Wicked Weave combo finishers. PKP is great, it's fast does decent damage and the finisher knocks back enemies. When you have a big opening like on a downed or stunned enemy, you can do PPKKK for its two weaves on the last two kicks. The sweeps in the PPPKKK combo trip most basic enemies, good when surrounded. PPPPK has rapid kicks which will extend the length of Witch Time (slow-mo). Bigger enemies can't be launched into the air with the normal launchers, so use PPKP or PP(pause)P for the Wicked Weave uppercut. I didn't even touch on air combos. Or angel weapons. Or weapon switching. Or torture attacks. There's a lot of stuff. Learn the enemies, learn their attacks and how to dodge them, learn what combo to do in each situation. That's the fun part.

Use dodge offset. After attacking keep the button held, then dodge. You did it right if the guns are still firing while you dodge. This keeps your place in the combo string on your next attack. This way you can always be working to your next combo ender even while there are enemies all over the place, and also cancel out the recovery time of slow moves.

Buy the Moon of Man Kahlaa accessory. It lets you parry just about every enemy attack in the game by flicking the stick in the direction of the attacker, a lot like Metal Gear Rising parries. Do it at the last instant and it will activate an extra long Witch Time and can get Witch Time on attacks that normally won't trigger it like most of Jeanne's attacks. Also great for sending back enemy projectiles.
Hope this helps if you decide to give it another shot. Bayonetta is one of my favorite games of all time. It's really that good.
