Berserk Series Discussion - RIP Kentaro Miura

Berserk was shit far longer than it was good, the last good chapter was 132 and it came out on 27 November 1998.
Mind boggling to me that people like the invincible JRPG party bullshit because they killed any tension the series ever had.

Also Muira was a pedophile, it's a good thing he died before he drew the little witch orgy he was very likely planning.

I believed the witch wanted to see guts as a father figure. I know I'm wrong though.

she's recovered but she may go ape again anytime. guts needs to go somewhere for idk, a year or two. he did this when she was in potato state and when he came back she stopped yelling.
in her recovered state she could just cope and move on like guts but her experience was way worse than his. best option would be erasing her eclipse memory but then she'd just ask what happened to griffith and others. hell I doubt she even knows griffith was an evil mf who sold them out and used them as stairs to achieve what he wanted.

at this point casca needs to comprehend what guts went through to get her tf outta everything and it all happened not because of guts, but because of griffith.

It's been over a year and no word yet. Do we know what the assistants are doing? I don't know who pays them at this point, but I doubt they'd just sit around without a monthly paycheck producing nothing and waiting for the word.

You got the Berserker armor that's slowly taking away his senses, the nigjtmare that is the Kushan invasion, Femto literally isekaiing the world into existence, and a cured Casca who still fears Guts!

Could be a matter of taste, but given how shit Guts' life has been, he definitely earned the lighter moments. That momentum to a brighter direction was being lead up since the Lost Children arc.

However, Puck sadly became less important, but at least he's still a meme.

Yeah, off the top of my head there were 4 pedophiles (Donny, The King, Wyald, and the Baron guy) and all of them died. I don't know if he was a pedo, he did draw them naked time to time, but as far as I know the Japs are less prudish about nudity in general, closest he got to lolicon shit was him defending it on the grounds that it's better for them to crank one out to a cartoon then to do something irl. If it would turn out he was a pedo it would be a lesser shock than Kenshin's author being into young teen girls when it never showed up in his work.

As if the Berserker armor takeover isn't rendered a total non-issue by the loliwitch. I'll admit Kushan was cool but it directly caused the shift from dark fantasy to high fantasy. I dunno I thought cured Casca was lame as fuck, didn't help that the art during those chapters was just awful and I cannot stand how he drew eyes after the transition to digital.

You're right it's probably a matter of taste because I would've agreed that Guts deserved a bit of R&R if he hadn't put on the berserker armor, that choice was damning regardless what reasons he had to put it on, and I don't feel the consequences for wearing it are as severe as they ought to be.

I liked Puck until he got flanderized, with the addition of more lighthearted characters he became a total cartoon.

Sorry buddy I don't buy it, just like how I don't buy the myth of "virtuous" pedophiles that only want to "protect" children. Guarrantee he had a couple of those euro "nudist" portfolios that mangaka sometimes get done for.

I think that's what's going to happen. If the the manga was over the publisher would have said so a long time ago. But the silence is very suspicious.

I wouldn't be surprised if Miura asked his assistants to continue to work on Berserk in case of his death because he knew how poor his health was.

I suspect that they are working on it and are trying to do their best to match his style and have been given time to try to get the story, way characters talk, flow, and art down. But it takes some time to get that done without any involvement of the creator. They may also just be finishing off whats left of the current story arc to see if they can pull it off with the studio checking in.

I hate pedophiles like a normal guy but Berserk is a grim dark setting and I really don’t think Muira was acting on lust when making a majority of the art.

Miura's been gone for more than a year now. I still am not quite completely over it. Berserk is the only anime that I've consistently remained in love with since my teen years, as well as a massively influential piece of fiction in general. I still don't know what they have planned for the series, but I'm still grateful to Miura for getting us this far. I hope he's enjoying a well-earned rest wherever he is now.
