Best of This is How You Don't Play's - What is the best TIHYDPs?

Preeeetty good. Especially the intro. However I also love Phil's "arguments" why Sledgehammer sucks and why they are too stupid to make a good CoD. Sledgehammer is TERRIBLE, they can't even fix the natural delay of 1-2 frames which can't be fixed unless we develop a technology that allows faster than light communication. Stupid developers!

It's totally the programmers and designers fault when...

... other people have better reflexes than him ("I saw him first but he killed me first!!!1") or pay more attention.
... other people have a better aim.
... he walks against a wall/car instead behind cover.
... other people attack him from behind.
... other people walk in pairs instead of solo (they spawned out of thin air!!!1)
... his team isn't 24/7 on his ass.
... his bullets miss the target.
... people lay down to avoid his shots (what's a valid strategy, whuuuuaat?).
... he just stands around, doing nothing, watches how his team dies and then gets shot because he "hides" behind a wooden wall.
... he has a bad connection / other people have a bad connection ("A sledgehammer connection right there").
... he doesn't deactivate aim-assist.
... people "spray" or "spam" shots" and - surprise - even win with this strategy (psht, they don't spray. Dave sprays).

He's also shot at his teammates multiple times and even kills one of them. Does he ever say something when he does that? Of course not.

"I won't play this anymore. I'm so done with it. I'm so tired of it". Which he says around 1000 times. Still, proceeds to play.
Just like his current life :3

I recently sat through the one for Ocarina of Time. It was equal parts funny and frustrating to watch because I know the game so well and seeing Phil fail on such basic things proved to me his ineptitude at games has no floor:

I'm working through the Majora's Mask one now. Having the Happy Mask Salesman's laugh play whenever he fails (i.e. most of the video) was a masterstroke:

Oh yeah, Josh Ryuk is a pretty good TIHYDP maker. And one thing that's nice about his stuff is that it's not just making fun of Phil; he's also quite informative about the game.

Like here, let's use his TIHYDP of Resident Evil 2 as an example:

Note that he's often pointing out what Phil's doing wrong and giving advice. It helps to understand what's going on if you're unfamiliar with the game. That being said, though, it can be quite verbose, so if you're just looking to laugh at Phil and nothing more, someone else's stuff would be better.

Thanks dude (i'm Josh), looking back, RE2 is probably the TIHYDP where i put the most love and care, as it's an important game of my childhood.

But yeah, the Let's Teach series is not made for a quick, casual viewing. Thankfully there are standard versions of most Let's Teaches, without the text commentary.
I have already mentioned this earlier in the thread, but one of the things I liked about your videos was that they were actually fair to Phil, pointing out places where the games were kinda unfair, or places where he actually played well, as rare as both of those things are, you basically stayed away from A-Logging him, which is a refreshing change in the DSPsphere..

Any chance of making some more of them? Because I have to admit that one of my reasons for getting excited for the RE2 remake is the possibility of you making a video on it.

I will probably make a RE0 one in the future.
In the meanwhile, i did make ones on Kingdom Hearts and The Witcher, so you can watch those too.

Any place that has a list of DSP lps in a chronological order? I'd prefer to watch TIHYDPs to compare just how bad he has gotten over his 10 years begacy

This is somewhat in order. The MGS 1 DON'T Play came out much later but if you're looking for videos in order of year he played them it's going to be very difficult. A lot of the video makers would go back to his older failthrough's and make a video out of them. The MGS 2 DON'T Play came out a year after Phil played it for example.

The only way to know if you're dealing with old Phil versus new Phil is if the failthrough is recorded with a camera pointed at the TV or not.

Devin DIABLO Griffin's redux of the Vice City playthrough. The entertaining part is how he repeats the same mistakes as last time.

For me, nothing will ever compare to the moment in his Jak & Daxter 1 playthrough where he started quoting the Bible as he defended himself from YouTube detractors.

Am I the only one that really misses the days when he allowed comments?
