Biggest bullshit in a video game

I'm honestly not sure off the top of my head.

I can't say from experience, but some claim this SHMP (DoDonPachi Death Label) is one of the hardest games ever; only 2 known people have ever beaten it:

(You have to fight 10 bosses back-to-back, including 2 of the final boss at once, and if you're hit once, it's game over):

I would appreciate it if games told you what happens when you press start during a cutscene. Just a "You can press [start] during a cutscene to pause it" during a loading screen. It's probably very common now that the game pauses instead of skipping but having made the mistake too many times in the past makes me hesitant to try if I don't know for sure. There's a lot of talk about accessibility these days and I would like to know if I can access the bathroom.
I literally just did this today with Silent Hill 2. I should've known better, given that it's an older game. But there're plenty of newer titles that have this problem.

Someone has never played 150cc in Mario Kart Wii.

Ah, Mario Kart Wii, the one game in the series that actively punishes you if you're in 1st place, i remember i've been hit by 4 blue shells in the last lap way too many times.

Playing that game in single player was a pain in the ass.

Anyone who's played God of War 2 on Titan difficulty knows just how fucking miserable the protect-the-translator section is.

I truly believe GoW2's Titan difficulty wasn't play-tested at all, i remember i had to use exploits in some parts of the game, like attacking the stone minotaurs from a blind spot, and some battles like the ones against Theseus and the Barbarian king felt like i could do nothing but rely on dumb luck to win.

But i could never make it past the translator battle, i tried dozens of times, i almost did it the first time, and made it progressively worse in each subsequent attempt, i just gave up. That was 10 years ago, and i haven't touched a God of War game ver since.

I’m shocked, I don’t think anyone posted this yet.

The Bloopers that spray ink at the screen are just as bad if you ask me. If you're lucky you can get the ink at the right angle to where you can actually see, but most of the time you'll just have to drive blind. Especially annoying if you don't know the track too well.

Weird, I see the Blooper as just as much of a useless item as the fake item box.

Games that make difficult enemy encounters by making them block gods with no convenient way to counter or guard break. That's not hard, just annoying. Looking at you Yakuza 3.

Truth be told I've only played Mario Kart 8 in splitscreen multiplayer so I have less screen real estate to rely on, so every time I get my screen inked I can't see shit.
What about the mini-map? When I got inked on other Mario Kart's that was usually enough to ballpark your position to be fine unless there were a ton of obstacles on the map.

That bossfight at the end of Yakuza (Kiwami) where you have to fight three dudes with guns at one time. Fuck that shit.

The platforming in super mario RPG, the isometric camera angle does not help at all. Isometric RPG platforming is an awful idea.
Honestly didn't have much issue with platforming parts in SMRPG.

You want a good case for "Isometric and platforming do not mix"...

I could not wrap my head around this shit when I was younger.

The first Solstice on nes was so much worse

Why would you do this to children?

Bullshit trophies/achievements (and multiplayer ones too but I'll get to that) Firstly, I'm not a trophy hunter wholsesale. If I really like a game, and all trophies can be grabbed on either a single playthrough or require different path playthrourhgs or whatever, I'll go for the Platinum as it makes me feel like I've squeezed every last drop of value out of the game. Assassins Creed Valhalla, loving this game, first Assassins Creed I've enjoyed since the Ezio trilogy. There's the usual, catch every fish, hunt every animal, do some other mundane gameplay shit. Then there's 'Overdesign II' Kill 3 hard difficulty enemies during a fight whilst on fire without breaking their shields. Are you fucking with me? To add insult the injury, the 'rules' around this achievement, and the description thereof are so vague that there are PAGES of forums posts of people who've done exactly that, using a universally accepted method, and the trophy won't pop. Fuck those trophies. Also if you put multiplayer Trophies in a primarily single player game then fuck you dead. I'm looking at YOU Ace Combat 7. I'll never be able to Plat that game now.

EDIT: Literally got it to pop within 3 seconds of writing this post.

I completely agree with how bullshit multiplayer trophies/achievements are. Especially when it's only one or two achievements at that, just to piss you off, same goes for random Co-Op achievements. One example I can think of is COD: MW2, which has an achievement for beating all of the Spec Ops missions, but two of the levels is Co-Op only, so you're basically fucked just like that.

Same. Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed has two. One for playing 4 player-split screen and another (which also require local co-op) need all 4 players to take the top 4 spots in a full race.

Which sucks because there's no way that anybody who bought Sonic And All Stars Racing: Transformed has 3 friends.

I've dodged the blue shell, once, in Double Dash. It was on Waluigi Stadium at the ramp with the boost to take you across. It honed in for the kill right as I was boosted out of the AoE.

I second the Tarkov bullshit, shotgun scavs are terrifying, and the amount of hackers killing me in the head, eyes is too fucking high.

Not really a video game thing, but I have two things to piss and moan about the Microsoft Store since I decided to take advantage of the $1 for 3 months of Game Pass.

Bitch the first, games can only be installed on a NTFS formatted drive. For years I've only had a 120 GB SDD, which basically fits W10 and EU4, and the rest of my storage being external. So fuck me I guess since I wanted to try out Halo, Gears, and the other two MS-made games after being a Soyny fag since the PS1 days and I never bothered to reformat my storage from EXFAT to NTFS because literally every other thing I've ever used on my PC (other than the fucking OS) had that hard requirement.

Second, trying to mod games is fucking preposterously obtuse. I'm the only user on my PC, and my account is password protected. But still I had to un-hide the Windows apps folder, and then I had to go into that folder's security to allow myself to access the individual game that I installed myself. But Windows wasn't accepting that the Administrator role was high up enough the chain of fucking command, so I had to figure that it wanted the name on my Windows account instead. So great, I'm finally in the directory for Control. But now it won't let me copy over a massive 60 kb .dll or whatever the fuck to fix the pleb-tier texture loading issues because there isn't enough space left in the directory to fit it.

It's like MS took Gabe Newell's warning from ten years ago to the dev community as a fucking dare. Both of those things I'm whining about have been non-issues for decades, but here they are trying to hammer in a nail with a beach ball.
