Lobby systems in new fighting games. You know how I make a lobby in Guilty Gear +r? I press "create room", press a button to copy a steam link, paste it to you, you click it and you immediately join my lobby from anywhere you are in the game. Simple. Easy. Melty Blood Community edition? Copy and paste my IP address. Blazblue Centralfiction? just join my lobby, bro. Street Fighter V? If I want a competitive match I just queue for it.
Strive? Gotta go to this tower, pick a region, pick a floor, then find someone available, hope they're not playing a bullshit character, duel them, hope they're not AFK, get into a match, then hope they're running at 60fps and aren't on Wifi.
DBFZ? Gotta run around this dumbass lobby and talk to an NPC to queue. Wanna duel someone off Discord? Gotta jump through a bunch of hoops.
Classic example of; just because you make it fancy and good looking, doesn't mean it's better.
