At the risk of sounding like a massive faggot: thank you. In the grand scheme of things, this forum is a tiny little speck on the radar of most people. However, to me and many others, this forum encapsulates an era that seems to be dead and gone on the Internet, and also, unfortunately, shows the lengths that our corporate overlords will go to preserve their monopoly and speech policing. This is the only place on the Internet with any sort of substantial userbase that people can still freely say whatever the hell they want. Likewise, this is one of the few places left that not only doesn't require, but actively discourages use of users' real identities. So thanks for going through such inhospitable conditions and fighting uphill battles on hills with ninety-nine-percent slopes just to keep this autistic forum where I can laugh at retards alive.

Honestly, I wish the off-topic media discussion boards (art&lit, multimedia, games, tech, bidness, etc.) could be spun off into its own site. I might've come to the Farms for the lolcows, but I stayed because it's one of the last places on the Internet to discuss common interests with like-minded people without ridiculous restrictions on what can or cannot be said. With the possible closure of the Farms looming on the horizon I've seen people asking for alternative discussion boards (myself included!) in some of the special-interest threads I lurk and the general consensus seems to be "there really ain't anywhere quite like here". I'd be happy with a site (or, hell, even a fucking Discord server) with just THAT.

Politispergery is just a generalized form of idpol, and destroys anything good it touches.

I think it's pretty evident to anyone who bothers to check (because I don't hide my profile because I'm not a pathetic loser) that I use this site almost entirely for A&N, I hate the hypocrisy and pandering to socjus crybabies that's so prevalent these days, and my general attitude is "let people say what they want as long as they're not being actively hateful or harmful".

Regardless, I agree that edgeposters who take it too far need the boot, regardless of political affiliation or motivation.

Credible threats aren't funny, they don't do anything for anyone, and they make our lives worse by attracting negative attention. Free speech is one thing, but the spirit of the concept is to encourage free flow of ideas. You should be able to freely discuss the merits of communism or fascism or whatever because the discussion encourages thought. "I was only pretending to be retarded" does not.
