It kind of is, although it’s more subtle than most Blobby comics. Note the main character’s disdain in panel two, and his general discomfort in panel three. He obviously finds gender reveal parties to be cringey, and presumably the author believes we the readers do as well. The joke, essentially, is that it turned out to be the good kind of gender reveal party instead of the bad kind. What we thought was a cis woman flaunting her heteronormativity was actually a heckin valid enby all along and our expectations are subverted. It’s not a preachy strip, but the humor is founded on the assumption that the audience holds certain opinions about such things.
