Ironically "someone hacks a live service video game, only inserts a mostly harmless inside joke when they could probably do something so much worse" sounds like something that could happen in a BA mini/side story.

Sensei scolds Maki for wanting to play Doom on convenience store kiosks and he forgives Saori for fucking shooting him. Techbro hate in Kivotos is crazy.
Maki lacks the "a supernatural being, who is more or less a literal demon, coerced me to do it after spending years to indoctrinate me and my friends" -defence.

The whole Mika character arc is another example of how Sensei places significant weight on circumstances and motivations, rather than looking at the Student actions in a vacuum. There's a reasonable argument that Mika was treated way too leniently (by the official Trinity judiciary, not the almost cartoonishly evil student mob) but it's not a complete ass-pull either to have Sensei vehemently defend her.

Techbro hate in Kivotos is crazy.
Kivotos Techbros tried to trick Serika into investing into ScamCoin and put blockchains into video games, not to mention Black Suit funding the research that directly lead to Decagrammaton. The hate is justified ngl

Plus she did it in the hopes that she could save her friend from being murdered by Bitchtrice. Understandable and I can see Sensei easily forgiving her for that, when he threatened to pull out the Adult Card 💳 despite the side effects on Black Suit for kidnapping Hoshino and making Black Suit back down and abandon Kaiser Loans to it's fate lmao

Maki wanted to install legally distinct Boom on to those kiosks. Whether Blue Archive's Boom is the same one as Nikke's Boom is an unanswered question. However since Sensei is a reality warper, he haves better success tard wrangling his Boom fanatic then Nikke's Commander does with his Boom fanatic.

EDIT: Btw it's Suzumi's birthday today.

Finished volume 5 and it was very... japanese (both in a good way and a bad way). The story had this very folklore japanese horror theme going on which was very different from what we seen so far in the story. Its almost feels like you traveled back in time when you enter Hyakkiyako. Thought the story was ok until the big moral dilemma happened with "lying is bad and wrong. but its part of human nature so its ok as long as you say sorry afterwards" even though lying to Yukari (and themselves) is what got them into this mess to begin with. kind of massage. Felt very asian coded. The characters themselves weren't much to write home about. Yukari was ok (atleast she had a personality) Kikiyo and Renge was just kinda there for the most part and Nagsua. Oh boy Nagsua.

Nagsua is a cuckqueen through and through. She acts like she is a weakling pretending to be strong but that dosent work when you actually strong. Sure She will never live up to her queen Ayame but she never had too to begin with. she was plenty strong in her own right even with her arm being injured. I understand she feels guilty letting her leader get turned into demon and send to hell but the self-hatred felt too much

Speaking of Ayame, its kinda funny how your friends learn that you got turned into a demon chilling in hell and the first response is not to find a way to save you but enjoy a festival.

I did like Shuro as a villain. I think she has the most character expressions of all characters in the game. They were really having fun with her.

Whoever the Koyuki hacker is, I salute you. Especially as I'm a big fan of the pink gremlin myself. He could've done some real damage but he limited it to just a very lore-friendly joke. Though if it was 100% lore friendly then he would've drained all our pyroxenes at least because Koyuki has a penchant for hacking into and embezzling Millennium funds to fund her gamba seshes.

One YouTube comment argued it WAS a "white hat hack" because this public stunt, while dealing some collateral damage, forced Nexon to address a genuine cybersecurity issue before someone more malicious would exploit it.

Chihiro: "Hare, when I complained that one of my clients was unwilling to invest in patching a security vulnerability, I didn't mean you should hack them as a demonstration!"
Chihiro: "..."
Chihiro: "I do have to give you credit for pulling a mostly harmless prank. The company was forced to take action before something worse happened."

Also I only now realize the visual pun of Hare's camping outfit including a literal white hat.

One thing I wanna ask all of you guys is what drew you to BA in the first place? My reason is a bit too sentimental and faggy so I'll put it in a spoiler.

When I was about 10 one of the cartoons on our TV, which I didn't know was an anime until way later in life, was GTO (Great Teacher Onizuka). I really enjoyed the anime and the funny situations both Onizuka and his students found themselves in, as well as Onizuka never giving up on his students and fixing their problems in a very touching, yet unorthodox way, especially as the class he was given was full of delinquents. When I got older and was thinking about which university programme I should sign up for, I remembered GTO and rewatched it, and decided to become a teacher, the show resonated with me way more than it did when I was a kid, especially as I was inspired by a few teachers I had through my schooling who really made me interested in subjects I never thought I'd be interested in, plus I very much respected my Kyokushin karate sensei, so I thought I'd either become a martial arts instructor (making me become a literal sensei) or a teacher. GTO is still one of my favorite animes today. Unfortunately, my life ended up going in a completely different direction so I ended up becoming neither a teacher or a martial arts sensei.

So when BA Global was first announced, a friend of mine got me to pre-sign up for the launch. I thought whatever, I'll put a bit of time into it. I'm not very much a multiplayer gamer and especially not a mobile gamer. The games on my phone are PSP or PS1 games that I emulate. But when the game did come out and I got a bit into it, read the story and some of the Momotalks, it felt very nostalgic to me, despite never knowing anything about the game. It very much reminded me of GTO, and my former dream of becoming a teacher. Like I said, I did end up quitting the game because I felt like I could do nothing substantial to progress, but I'm glad I got back into it with the Steam release.

I only have part 1 of Volume 5 for some reason, but about lying the moral seemed to be "people lie and it's okay". Of course it's better not to, but it's not some massive character flaw to be caught in one or use it for a goal, just admit it and apologize. Like most BA morals it's surprisingly mature.

It's probably faster to do it than send a form that no one will read. And mad lad got us a lot of free shit to boot.
One thing I wanna ask all of you guys is what drew you to BA in the first place?
The Pokedance video. It had a lot of character and passion for it (several times more than the original godawful Pokemon fan animation) and it made me wonder if the game was more than a meme, especially as it featured way more characters than usual to gacha (that tend to focus on a very small subset).

The funny thing is after playing a while, there are tons of character traits in it that only make it better.

What drew you to BA in the first place?
I got burned out on FGO and Girls Frontline. Everything had reached a point where I just couldn't be bothered anymore. FGO chapters were getting more and more distant from the mainline Fate storyline and missions in Girls Frontline all had a weird and difficult gimmick that made you replay the mission over and over and over again, otherwise it was a guaranteed fail. I wanted a chill and laid back game that didn't take itself too seriously and wasn't as stingy with characters, so I asked the Blue Archive /vg/ thread on 4chan if it was worth getting into.

As I was undergoing OCS in what has probably been the most difficult thing in my entire life, I was very, very close to quitting. At my lowest moment, I randomly thought back to a scene in Blue Archive and GGF started playing in my head. I got this enormous wave of willpower from within and it gave me that small push I needed to endure it to the very end. Blue Archive has funnily enough changed my life for the better.
