When I was about 10 one of the cartoons on our TV, which I didn't know was an anime until way later in life, was GTO (Great Teacher Onizuka). I really enjoyed the anime and the funny situations both Onizuka and his students found themselves in, as well as Onizuka never giving up on his students and fixing their problems in a very touching, yet unorthodox way, especially as the class he was given was full of delinquents. When I got older and was thinking about which university programme I should sign up for, I remembered GTO and rewatched it, and decided to become a teacher, the show resonated with me way more than it did when I was a kid, especially as I was inspired by a few teachers I had through my schooling who really made me interested in subjects I never thought I'd be interested in, plus I very much respected my Kyokushin karate sensei, so I thought I'd either become a martial arts instructor (making me become a literal sensei) or a teacher. GTO is still one of my favorite animes today. Unfortunately, my life ended up going in a completely different direction so I ended up becoming neither a teacher or a martial arts sensei.
So when BA Global was first announced, a friend of mine got me to pre-sign up for the launch. I thought whatever, I'll put a bit of time into it. I'm not very much a multiplayer gamer and especially not a mobile gamer. The games on my phone are PSP or PS1 games that I emulate. But when the game did come out and I got a bit into it, read the story and some of the Momotalks, it felt very nostalgic to me, despite never knowing anything about the game. It very much reminded me of GTO, and my former dream of becoming a teacher. Like I said, I did end up quitting the game because I felt like I could do nothing substantial to progress, but I'm glad I got back into it with the Steam release.
