save the gems hombre, there's a 2X SSR event real soon, you'll know it when you see it, other than that you should save until limited banners roll around

My strategy as a f2p player of Blue Archive since Global launch has been to save my Pyro for characters that are marked "Limited", meaning they're only available on their corresponding banner (roughly once per year) and don't go into the general draw pool. As such, I've always been able to obtain brand new Limited characters upon release and still have some Pyro left over to roll on normal banners every now and then for gameplay-useful characters that I'm missing. The game has a pity ("spark") system in which after 200 pulls on a banner period (resetting once the period ends), you can cash in the "Recruitment Points" to get any character on the current banners (or extra fragments on a banner character you already have). Keep in mind that some tickets have expiration dates, so you have to use them or lose them.

It's helpful to look at the JP server's banner history to plan for how to save and spend your Pyro. Global's schedule is about six months behind JP. At the moment, this means that we're about to get a lot of new Limited characters across two banner periods:
1751814653575.webp

The first banner period with Seia and School Asuna includes 100 total free pulls (distributed over the week), but keep in mind that those free pulls will expire when the banner period ends. Of the two, Seia is the better choice for gameplay.

The second banner period with Rio, School Neru, and Swimsuit Hanako is the big "Fest" anniversary which traditionally offers very powerful Limited characters, including several from past anniversaries that don't get dedicated banners. You may want to dump all your Pyros here to get as many of these characters as you can.

Completing high-difficulty content (mainly Total Assault, Joint Firing Drill, and Grand Assault events) typically involves having one damage-dealing Striker with the correct damage type for the battle and supporting characters that can buff that damage-dealer (or debuff the enemies). There's even built-in guidance on who you should be using by looking at the rewards/ranking screen for the content to see who other players are using, then using the copy/layout feature to follow their example. Your lineup can also include one "Assistant" from your Club or Friends list, so make sure you join a Club and add Friends of high level.

The most popular damage-dealers for each damage type (most of them Fest Limited) have been:
  • Red - Dress Hina, Aru
  • Yellow - Mika, Momoi
  • Blue - Wakamo, Shiroko Terror, Armed Hoshino, New Year Mutsuki
  • Purple - Swimsuit Hanako
For buffers, keep in mind that their damage type is irrelevant. Extra damage from their buff will be the damage type of the buffed character, though some buffers' Skills explicitly state to enhance a specific damage type. Especially popular buffers (and healers) include:
  • Striker - Camp Hare, Swimsuit Hoshino, Koharu, Kokona, Seia, Ui
  • Special - Ako, New Year Fuuka, Himari, Kisaki, Swimsuit Shiroko
Hope this helps.

Is he as good (writing, personality) ingame as the design implies?
He's the antagonist of the first volume, one of the adults in Kivotos. Writing-wise he's an alright antagonist, but his deal is that he likes to make unfair deals, sort of like a Faust character.

This ends up biting him in the ass towards the volume 3 finale.

Apparently they released the game onto Steam uncensored.

A surprising development.
In spite of what one may think regarding my earlier comments, I'm happy to see Steam do this as censorship/banning is a slippery slope meaning it's good for all of us that Steam maintains a rather laissez faire approach to content on their storefront.

what's there even to censor?
someone gooning to chibis sound more like a personal issue.
First appearance of Aris, with her sleeping on a chair naked but with everything covered up. The censored version is you only see her head during that scene. MX Studio had made it where the players can select which version, uncensored or censored, they want to play for most servers.

I just checked, Blue Archive PV 2 JP version shows Aris uncensored and the EN version shows Aris censored with both on YouTube.

Unless I'm mistaken tickets last for thirty days. Well for the free ones, and definitely not sure for the tickets you buy.

There are generally a handful of Characters that are a must-have (Mika, T. Shiroko, Hoshino Armed etc.) There's a character tier list for all Raid/Challenges. The only wall you will probably hit in the main story is Volume 3 Chapter 3 Episode 24 with Hieronymus, but if you level up to say level 45, you won't have any real issues. Always remember to match damage types (colors) for the best outcome.

I did the unthinkable... i wasted money on a GATCHA game (30 bux to be exact).

Its so over...

But hey, atleast i got some sweet new units.

I'm surprised anyone spends money on this game. The dollar-per-pull value seems low even by the abysmal standards of gacha games. Plus the game is ridiculously generous with its drop rates, plus free pulls, event drops, and random rewards out the ass. Sometimes they'll just randomly drop 10 free pulls into your mailbox because their official Twitter account reached some arbitrary milestone or something.

You basically already have all the units you'd ever need to breeze through missions and event content up until Elastic (Purple) enemies start showing up.

I'm not sure at what level the event recap feature unlocks for new players, but it might be worth playing the first stage on a couple of events in the archive for the free welfare characters. Two of the welfare characters, Swimsuit Shizuko and Swimsuit Ayane, are pretty strong. Swimsuit Shizuko is one of the best shielders in the game.

Not so much an antagonist after the first volume but rather a very interested third party. With him and most of Gematria having their own interests separate from the antics of Sensei and Kivotos.
This ends up biting him in the ass towards the volume 3 finale.

Not keeping tabs on and tard wrangling Beatrice is what bit him and Gematria in the ass.
