I have to agree with Drinker that the average person doesn't care about those awards, but personally I like them it's nice to see the people who work hard behind the scenes of filmmaking get recognition vs actors jerking themselves off with praise.
Hell, it's not just the average person that doesn't care about awards beyond Best Picture, Director, and the various actor awards. The Academy itself doesn't really care that much either. Animated feature almost always goes to whatever Disney/Pixar movie was big that year because Academy voters feel that animation is beneath them so they throw a vote at Disney, though obviously this year was an exception with The Boy and the Heron. And as for the technical awards...well, one need only look at 2018's winner for Best Film Editing to see how little attention they pay to what they're voting for:
Let's also not forget how they basically rushed some of the "lesser" winners off-stage in previous years instead of letting them finish their remarks, or how they planned on doing some of those awards during commercial breaks (though I think there was enough backlash to reverse those plans).
Simply put, if the Academy wants us to care about the rest of the award winners, then maybe they should set a good example by caring themselves. Drinker is 100% accurate in his statement, these faggots just don't want to admit it.

The OP's right, I honestly can't even remember the overwhelming majority of MCU villains, and none of them gave off anywhere near as menacing a vibe as Austin Butler did in his brief screentime as Feyd-Rautha (though Baron Harkonnen is arguably more memorable). Bob resorts to his standard contrarianism by claiming that the villains in Dune are aykshyually worse than Marvel's, and then goes on to claim that Sting's campy winged underwear portrayal is better. Fuck you, Bob.

How is it racist to state that black people love DBZ (not Latinos in this case, though they love DBZ too)? The whole point of that comic is that you don't need a character to look exactly like you to identify with them, which flies in the face of the whole "muh representation" crowd. In fact, if you
do feel like you can only identify with characters that match up with you 1:1, you probably have autism, or at least aren't very fun at parties.

never manifested no matter how much different industries have tried to chase it. The idea that your built-in audience will continue to consoom no matter what, and thus you can make any changes at all to attract new demographics, never lines up with reality. People
will leave when things get stupid, it's only a matter of time.
Funny how Bob brings up comic books specifically, considering how those have taken a massive nosedive in popularity over the years as they chase the woke audience, with the Big Two becoming increasingly less so in terms of market share. Meanwhile, I think someone upthread mentioned how sales of Hasbro licensed comics have rebounded ever since they stopped the woke pandering and got back to writing good stories that the fans wanted. Really makes you think.
