Bob Chipman / Robert Lewis Chipman / MovieBob / Game OverThinker - "Coastal Elite Thinker" who wants conservatives, Christians and manual workers eradicated. Universally ignorant; cannot tell reality from sci-fi. Sore loser with short fuse. Odious Disney shill. Tranny chaser and general creep. Fat and diabetic.

Bob's Mario sounds like Lou Albino from the old American cartoon. Even the newer voice from Super Mario 64 onwards is too different from what he is used to. I really doubt a guy raised on Lou Albino Mario the way Moviebob was, actually enjoyed Chris Pratt Mario.

When he said he liked the Super Mario Bros movie it sounded like he said it through grinded teeth because it was what was expected of him. This is the same guy who hates all the Sonic movies because the "console wars" are still his personal Vietnam. He HAS to like the Mario movies and he HAS to hate the Sonic movies because he is so invested in the "console wars" he has internalized it as part of his personality.
My brother got a Blu-Ray set of the Mario cartoon a while back, and he watched it religiously. He didn't mind Chris Pratt as Mario at all. Then again, he doesn't see Mario as a fantasy epic on the same scale as The Lord of the Rings.

Is there even anything Bob unironically likes that isn't just him being performative?

The only people who still talk about Family Guy are the ones questioning how it's still on the air.

"I thought we might get some respectful coverage at least today."

It's fucking CNN of course you won't.

I was taking a look at that latest Moviebob video posted on here.

"I don't like debates... I'll debate comic book shit like if Superman can defeat Spider-Man?"
There is no debate to this, Superman is overpowered as fuck of course he could defeat Spider-Man.

Now that I got that comic spergout of out of my system, from what I saw, the video is mostly Bob talking about how he doesn't "do" debates. "All the important stuff has already been decided". In other words he is acting as if all the "important stuff" you can just look up in a dictionary. There is apparently no debate to be had about abortion, women's rights, trans atheletes in sports, economic policy, war in Russia/Israel, giving economic aid to foreign nations, tax policy. As far as Bob is concerned it's just "known", it's just "facts", it's just stuff you can easily look up. There is no "debate" to be had in the world of politics. I'm not putting words in Bob's mouth he is EXPLICITLY saying this.

This is of course bullshit because Bob is constantly debating politics on twitter. What he means is he will not debate live with a person where he can't just block them and waddle away. This mindset means that if someone on twitter gives him an argument he cannot refute he can just go "I don't need to debate this the answer is so obvious" and then won't offer an actual answer.

Bob doesn't realize that NO, much of the "important stuff" has NOT already been decided. Science is constantly "evolving" - new knowledge casts doubt on older postulations and consensuses on the regular. Case in point: Gallileo. If people had just accepted that Geocentrism was "already decided", science would not have progressed. Bob, for all his claims to being a 'progressive', is actually nothing of the sort, because in Bob's mind, at some point Science knowledge reaches Ultimate Truth and cannot be advanced further. Which means if Bob ever had anything to do with Science ™️ he would let it stagnate.

Moviebob is one of the most genocidal people I've ever seen. For as much as he loves Disney this might be the closest representation of him in a Disney production: https://youtu.be/1YiAzyCzZzw

Singing about genocide. And even that is being generous. The real version for Bob would be him singing about "sammiches".

He thinks like that because he doesn't listen to people, doesn't read anything except capeshit comic books, and follows only the algorithm-curated news sources on social media. Whenever he hears an unwelcome idea he thinks he can just Thanatos-snaps it away, together with the person who harbors the wrongthink. What a limited, piteous existence -- and he considers himself among the "Elites".

But then, had his horizon been wider, Bobby would not think of himself so highly.

Best part is that in the comic that panel came from, Spidey needed a temporary power-up to hold his own against Superman.

Funny how a "thinker" like Bob doesn't understand how science progresses.

One of Spider-Man's stupidest superpowers is his "Spider Sense". The reason I say this is because you'd think maybe it's just his hyper reflexes but in reality it's low level omniscience. If you're several miles away and even think about pointing a sniper rifle at Aunt May Spider-Man will go "my spider sense are tingling" because he somehow just KNOWS Aunt May is in danger.

What I just said is the type of thing Moviebob should be making more videos about. I know most of his "comics are weird" videos was just him reading wikipedia summaries but it was still some of his best content. That's the thing if Bob could just shut the fuck up with his political rants on twitter he could just be the funny guy who makes videos about comics and movies. Points of mockery like "that's a fairly small amount of McDonald's for an average-sized person I'd say" or him dressing up as Mario, it could be seen as little eccentricities from a lovable oaf if he was just a nice guy and wasn't wishing genocide on most of the American population constantly.

But because he is constantly so bitter and negative online all the time it makes people WANT to hate him.

Pic-related, Bob is the person in the first part with the "ugly thoughts". If he was fat, ugly, and stupid but was humble and had kind thoughts he wouldn't get so much hate.

This fucking movie is so tepid, even Bob can't help but feel cynical about it.

-5/10 6/10, An adequate live-action adaptation. +1 point for keeping Stitch and Lilo just as heartwarming as the original.

TL;DW:
-Bob expects this live-action adaptation will make money, just like all the other live-action adaptations.
(+1 Snow White mention)
-Bob notes that Stitch the alien is a very marketable character overseas, more so than even Mickey Mouse.
-So he sees the financial reasoning to make this movie, and not any other reasons.
-Bob questions the point of creating a live-action adaptation of an animated movie set in plain old Hawaii
-Live-action adaptations usually adapted Disney's more whimsical movies. The ones with fantastical settings and locales.
-Lilo and Stitch's appeal was that it was animated, the 2d designs gave Hawaii an unique aesthetic.
-Now that it is live-action, it's much less unique and much more comparable to many movies in the genre, like E.T.
-Still, Bob claims that Lilo and Stitch 2025 is a good movie, with everything important accurately adapted.
-Bob concludes that you could watch worse movies coming out this weekend.

Funny how he's like "oh it's not that bad," because apparently (from what I've been following over in the Disney thread), they made major changes to the script that make no sense and ruin the message of the original movie. For one, they cut Gantu out entirely and turned Jumba into the antagonist, so instead of a mad scientist learning that he too can have a family...he's just evil I guess. Also, they swapped out Cobra Bubbles for some random social worker (at least they got Tia Carrere to play her I guess), they removed all instances of Pleakley and Jumba's paper-thin disguises for human illusions (presumably to save on CGI budget), and at the end, Lilo gets adopted by her grandparents so Nami can go off to college instead of being a family together.

"Not that bad" my ass. It's like he didn't even have anything to say beyond "this movie only exists because marketability," which isn't surprising, but clearly he's giving it a major pass because he doesn't want to be seen as one of those guys always ragging on Disney even when they keep pumping out turds like this.

I know you're joking, but there was one character who was a clone of Peter, but his Spider Sense was heightened to having detailed visions of the future.

Like Thunderbolts?

THEY DID WHAT?!

How the fuck do you miss the point of the original this much? What was the thought process in writing this version?

"Hmm, there's this one guy who calls himself an evil genius, but later grows to care for his own creation like a son. Let's make him the villain."

"The two aliens' disguises do very little to hide their identities, while one wearing women's clothes is meant to show how little he understands Earth. Let's just give them holographic disguises."

"A big part of the story is two orphaned sisters learning to appreciate each other and remain a family. Let's ship the sister off and introduce their grandparents even though they should have shown up much earlier."

This is the remake Bob thinks isn't half-bad?

[2025.05.20-01] Democrats: how do we use Biden's terminal cancer to make Trump look bad?
cancer1.webp
What... the... FUCK?!

What the ever loving fuck does Biden's health have to do with any of Trump's policies?

As a side note, FreedomToons' Seamus Coughlin (whom I've mentioned in the past) talking about how ObamaCare damaged and dismantled the American health care system long before Trump took office:
  • “You’ll get to keep your doctor.” My father has had 15 different endocrinologists since this bill passed.
  • "If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor." - Obama. I lost all of my doctors.
  • Obamacare - If you thought healthcare was expensive before, just wait until we make it free.
  • I remember yelling at the TV during the Obamacare debate, "What about controlling the cost?" Surprisingly my yelling did not work.
  • When obamacare hit, I went from $150/mos to $400/mos just for me and my daughter [...] for less coverage than what we were previously able to purchase. Don't forget the subsidies we had to pay for everyone else to have insurance.
  • When "Obamacare" hit our premiums went up 300% and our coverage went down 300%. (Use your imagination as to what I might say about Obama here...)
  • Whenever something is subsidized or someone is able to finance it, the price instantly increases. Yet here we are, subsidizing and financing everything and thinking that it makes things more affordable.
  • My mother lost her insurance due to Obamacare. She had trouble getting coverage [...] she put off fatigue for over a year until she collapsed. She passed from cancer the next day. Obama knew what would happen and lied about it.
  • My insurance before Obamacare was $269 a month, over $1,600 after
  • The apparent goal is to drive private health insurance companies out of business, and then the government can swoop in and 'save" us all with government health insurance, ensuring that we all pay more for health care!
  • ...Obamacare actively forced you into a far more expensive health insurance, and if you couldn't afford it, would tax you for roughly the same amount that you would have payed anyway, but not given you any coverage.

You'd think DEIsney would be ALL OVER a chance to peddle something glorifying non-traditional families, but I guess fucking up the story and emotional core of a movie when they remake it had to take precedence this one time.
It's honestly hilarious. Never mind the already countless examples of this message in modern media, they just had to shoehorn another generic female empowerment ending by letting Nami get away from her burdensome family to go to college. Because God forbid we have a character decide that family is more important than personal desires, not when we live in the age of the Millennial writer!

It's probably going to do well enough on opening weekend, and there are certainly going to be people who don't notice these changes (maybe because the last time they saw Lilo and Stitch was twenty years ago), but one can only hope bad word of mouth will tank it faster so that Disney doesn't get the idea to keep raping their past with these unnecessary remakes. There's another Karate Kid movie coming out next week, which kind of appeals to the kid crowd and may help curb any momentum, and then two weeks later is...a live-action remake of How to Train Your Dragon...

We're never getting away from these, are we?

Doesn't this imply the girls have absolutely horrible grandparents who just ignored them becoming orphans until forced to act by the state? Ohana means "under duress."

If you were to attempt to confront Bob with this exact statement he wouldn't actually give a proper counter argument he would just point out that it wasn't "Thanatos" it was "Thanos" that snapped his fingers in the MCU and he would act as if it was this big brained gotcha. He doesn't have to actually respond to the point you're making because you made a mistake about the MCU. He is smart for knowing basic Marvel movie stuff therefore he wins.

It's basically like a guy who acts as if he won an Internet argument due to the other person making a trivial typo but instead of typos it's just Marvel movie trivia.
