Oh, yes, if you actually like videogames those old magazines are very interesting. Though reading about some of those titles that weren't localized was frustrating (fortunately, some of those were actually localized years later, like Secret of Mana II released later as Trials of Mana). TBH I tend to find that the other hard sciences take more time pissing on softer sciences than engineering. Engineers, at least good ones, tend to be known to solve problems, for good or ill.
