That is debatable. Barb never tried teaching Chris shop techniques or tried to really enforce discipline on Chris. Yes, Bob had his flaws (Greene County conspiracy and all) but he actually tried, Barb didn't.

It doesn't matter how good a father Bob was or could of been. Barb's toxic influence would of (and did) undermined any progress Bob made with Chris.
In regards to Barb's influence, it would no doubt undermine whatever progress Bob would have left on Chris. Had he still been alive today, he would no doubt get into conflict with Chris over some of the things that had happened.

If Bob was still alive today, then the GamePlace incident would have gone much, much differently since, just for starters, Bob at least would have had a clue about trying to look decent for the trial and would have forced Chris to not wear the fucking makup.

Not only that, things probably could of also been different on the night the house fire occurred.

Bob had his faults, but he would have shut down Chris' idiotic wiring solution the second he saw it. It's safe to say that If Bob were alive, Branchland court wouldn't have been razed to the ground on that fateful night.

^ For Barb's burial/funeral, Id have to think it would be inspired by Darth Vader's in Return of the Jedi.

Barb would be laid upon her mound of Barbage, and Chris would light it slowly with a torch, gazing solemnly as the flames carried Barb's body to the afterlife.
I personally like to envision Chris behind the controls of a shovelmech, trying to put out the fire.

Has it really been over three years already since he died?

Jesus...

More importantly he wouldn't have driven Chris there in the first place, much less tried to flee and assault a cop. That was the moment I realized Barb was just as unhinged as Chris.

You know it's so interesting. If Chris wasn't such a Lolcow, Bob's grave would have been one of many lying unforgotten and ignored. But because we have been documenting Chris's life for nearly a decade I believe, we have become attached to his family. Thus when Bob died we felt a sense of sorrow, as if he was a distant relative of ours. Makes me wonder how people are going to react when Chris hits the bucket.

I probably would not be too sad. As pitiable as he is, he's now a repeated physical hazard to other people young and old, having ran over a graying man and released pepper spray at close proximity of kids without any second thoughts despite a few days in jail.

On some level I knew how old Bob was, but seeing the date on the grave made me realize he was a teenager during World War II. Poor guy got saddled with Barb and Chris in his final years.

Would Chris spring for a coffin for his mother?

Or would he settle for a large garbage bag or several bed sheets ( I know zero chance of a lego casket..)?

I assume Rocky is no longer helping him with his life?

I do not see what is wrong with that. If I died and my kids spent tons of money on an expensive casket i would probably haunt them...

Cardboard is good enough for me

This kinda hits me in the feels: poor old Bob, he had his issues, but, based on some of the things we've seen, it looks like he at least made an effort to actually parent Chris (despite doing things like hiring friends for him). Bob was misguided, but he obviously meant well.

Also, the picture gave me a momentary flashback.

I don't know why my mind went there....

As for Chris, maybe they can put him with Patty under that 5 - 10 ton doghouse.

Naah, they'll just stick him in sonchu and park him on the property with the Beemer.

This makes me wonder, if Barb wanted to save money so bad why didn't she just schedule a service (or at least just had him buried) with the VA? It would of been free, and I'm sure Bob was eligible for honors and benefits. And Ruckersville is in the middle of two national cemeteries, one being 30 minutes away.

Also if he was inurned in a national cemetery he'd probably have some flowers in that little vase. :(

I'm not sure if he'd be eligible. He served in the Army but it was during peacetime.
