Assuming the remains come back as DNA matches for Brian Laundrie, or they have the bit of the arm with tattoo, the parents obviously did NOT lie about their knowledge of Brian Laundrie's last known whereabouts and did not lead law enforcement on a false search.

It has been several weeks in the swamp. The reason it was "suspected human remains" is not only because of rot and decomposition, but because that body was used as snack food.

Brian could have an heroed. But he also could have just lacked the will to live. Water raises up on him overnight, but he just doesn't have the will to move. Too cold at night as he can't light a fire. Just not worth it to do anything to stay warm. Gator looks at him like a tasty snack, Brian can't be muster up the care to move away and lets nature take its corpse.

What will be interesting is if there are still protesters in front of the Laundrie's parents home. They found the body & the notebook. The parents didn't lie and the worst they did is keep their mouths shut, which is legally allowed.

Everything is about as resolved as it will ever got. If the protesters are still there yelling and annoying people, then it isn't for anyone else's benefit but their own. They WANT the attention. This is their only sense of self identity. This is the only thing that gave them purpose or self validation in their life so they will have to keep on doing it. At least until the news crews go away, or the clicks & views on their live streams or videos plummet.

I get the sentiment about paying taxes, but closure and justice was what we really needed out of this case. I think it would do a lot of vulnerable young men good to see someone very publicly strung up for this shit.
