First, customers doesn't have an apostrophe in this context. Second, anti-vaxxers are inbred rednecks who think video games are devil-worshipping, so they are not a part of this game's target audience. And third, if you think a 9-word sentence makes a game "shit", you should very well kill yourself.

It's a shotgun. It's ironic, innit.

Also while I'm here I'd like to take a couple seconds to complain about how they did Axton and Salvador dirty but that's not surprising.

Apparently the director's cut has, well, cut content and there's a couple of scenes with Ava after Maya's death and I swear up and down that the scenes weren't made until Ava's piss-poor reception with the initial release because the scenes actually put Ava in a relatable position. She's very upset and she recoils as a defence mechanism, for sure, but once a little time passes, she doesn't blame anyone except for herself. None of this "FIGURE IT OUT LILITH" bullshit. Lilith talks to her like a person who's also experienced loss and she comes across as a good mentor while Ava shows she's not just a child who gets everything she wants.

so that's cool that no one in the office thought maybe they should include that instead of what we got instead. Gotta make room for.... I dunno, bigger, emptier maps.

It is very convenient that these "deleted scenes" address literally every problem people had with ava in one fell swoop almost like they're forced to do damage control because ava pretty much has to be in the sequel short of an unceremonious killing off in the first 5 minutes. Still dosen't excuse the other retardation in the story like tannis being made a siren for no reason, insistence on cringey uses of dead memes in dialogue despite promising they'd cut that shit out, squandering the tales from the borderlands characters, squandering 90% of the bl2 cast, squandering aurelia, and making 3 out of the 4 playable characters completely forgettable and profoundly boring, ect.

Randy Pitchford steps down as CEO of gearbox!

well, not really stepping down. just moving to a different division of the company to focus on movies instead of games. trying to find his way into pedowood maybe?

Oh good! This has the same timing as Sora being added to Smash AFTER Kingdom Hearts isn't popular anymore.

A little late there, bud. Good luck with those movies though. Can't wait to actually physically see people pissed off after you kill the likeable characters in a movie instead of a game.

I did a brief marathon of the series and it was usually a good time (until I got to 3, that is)

You know, if Gearbox ever wants to make it right with the fans after B3, creating a plot over how Maya is still alive inside Krieg's mind (just say its Siren magic, at this point Sirens have no rules anymore so use that) and how we can bring her back into the physical world (again, Borderlands tech is so insane they can easily just digitize a new body for her).

Oh and kill Aya in a horrific manner in the opening of the game as a shocker, subvert our expectations Joel styled, Gearbox. It IS the hot new trend now, aint it?

Ironically B3 has a similaritiy with B1 over how the DLCs are more fun to play and explore than the actual main game. I think thats due to different writers working on it (and usually they are better writers, kind like The Far harbor DLC of F4 having better writing than the main game).

Also I miss when having Legendaries was awesome, now they just blend in with the rest. Its like if Nintendo made shinies easier to pop up, that would devalue them severely.

And you know...looking back, does Tales from the borderlands even matter at all in the overall "saga" ? Because the ending is never addressed, ever. After Fiona and Rhys disappear to God knows where, we are just to assume they ended up fine and Rhys resumed being CEO of Atlas and Fiona and her sister just decided to skip town and are hidden somewhere. It just feels like Gearbox didnt want to bother with these developted characters and only bothered with Rhys (but giving no context on how he got where he in B3 from the ending of Tales). I tried to imagine as someone who didnt play Tales and they wouldnt be losing anything...Tales's events arent touched upon, ever, closest we ever get is Rhys saying he opened a vault once and it didnt go so well (and being told by Zer0 that Fiona and Sasha refused to be in B3 and are in hiding for whatever reason). I almost wanted to believe that Fiona would return as a DLC vault hunter but at this point this is impossible. So honestly, despite Tales being one of the best Telltale projects, its just kind of irrelevant on the long term and any plot points hanging wont be addressed by Gearbox and much less Telltale for obvious reasons. God what a beautiful mess B3 is, the best way to describe it.

"A beautiful mess"

Edit: I almost forgot on how they never take advantage of Rhys and Vahs being reunited after 7 years. You would think we would at least have an echo of them exchange a few words and being glad to see each other. Closest we ever get is a picture of them together at the credits, something that is meaningless to someone that didnt play Tales as they wouldnt know these two characters are connected and it would just seem random.

Late reaction here but good riddance. Im sure this might be a reaction to all the negative controversity around him (but you see, CEOs are rarely fired from their positions, simply ''transfered'' to another position...there is an element of PR that a firing like that could bring, and Gearbox rather avoid that).

I never understood the obsession for the story and the characters of the Borderlands games, I played the entirety of both 1 and 2 for the shooter mechanics, the reward loop and the visual presentation. Gearbox has shown that they don't care about the characters or whether or not the writing makes any sense so why should I?

Never cared to try 3 because after the whole Epic Store brouhaha I had already moved on.

Thats because Borderlands has shown that it is capable of depth with their writing and characters. They can be serious and intriguing, hell, Telltale made a whole game about the hidden depths of this universe.

But then 3 happened and it all feels like something was lost in the way. There is an art between keeping an universe comical but still serious where it matters.

Assault on Dragon Keep is getting a standalone release and more added content. Or something, kinda hard to tell.

They really need to resuscitate this franchise because after BL3, it feels like hype for it is at rock bottom. No one is talking about that Wonderlands spinoff because it looks like the same type of grating shit as BL3. For BL4 they need to tone down the shitty over the top meme humor and get more serious, and get some antagonists that don't make me want to stab myself in the head. Maybe Pitchford fucking off to play with movies will help with that.

If Gearbox fucks up the Borderlands IP they are screwed because pretty much everything else they've tried has been a disaster.

So that Tina Tiny game is going to be free on PS Plus. Preorder numbers must be fucking horrible.
If you're referring to this then you're mistaken, this is for the weird cash-grab standalone version of the borderlands 2 dlc they released a couple months ago. This isn't the new game.

It's hard to imagine a more immediately obnoxious combination between Tiny Tina as a character, Wanda Sykes and Andy Samberg together in a game from a series that hasn't been entertaining in years.

It's a shame too because the Bunkers and Badasses DLC was the best in the series aside from General Knoxx (And mayyyybe the Cthulu one) in my opinion, and obviously it's a popular opinion if they're making a whole spin-off game using the concept. But putting so much attention on Tina isn't a good thing; she's best in small doses, not an entire narrative.

I absolutely do not in any way shape or form expect this to be good but the fact that the Calypso twins are dead and no longer part of the franchise automatically makes it better than BL3.

And there's a tentative zero mention of Ava so that can only work in its favour

The BL3 writers must have been on crack. It's baffling how bad those characters were.

I knew people with over a thousand hours in Borderlands 1-2 who dropped three after like ten hours solely because Ava and the Calypso's were so annoying.
