There are articles about it from like 2017, his mom pretty much blames it (and the onset of Bam’s alcoholism) on Bam “liking the way Ville looked.”

I honestly think it was a way to try and shame and silence all the “lol fat” jokes Bam was getting. Since he never stopped with the fat jokes in his heyday I’m pretty sure there was a sizable crowd ready to gleefully make fun of him when he ballooned out. He even got his mom to back it up. So just like an instathot you bring up your struggle with ED to shame the trolls into silence. The online etiquette is you can’t comment on someone’s weight if they had an ED. This was was the “one neat trick to stop fat jokes and get sympathy” discovered by female celebs and influencers years ago.

I also think this is another big check in the gay column. How many straight guys do you know with ED? (Muscle bound roided out gym freaks not included) Anorexia/Bulimia is rare in men and when it does occur the guys tend to be gay.

Interesting the 2017 article talks about him “living in Spain” with his pregnant girlfriend.

thanks for the link. trying to think back and you know, the only straight guy I knew with an ED was a wrestler who had bulimia. Everyone else: gay.

Wouldn't surprise me. A lot of those guys come out as bi in the end or at least curious. Hell Bam could be both jealous of Novak being clean and now his scapegoat is gone to greener pastures.

Makes me wonder if Bam is hard up for cash if he’s hassling Novak about owing him for a car crashed eons ago.

His parents manage his money, but drugs can make the richest man broke. If he still has money I could see them limiting his access to cash. If he can’t get cash then he can start hassling all his old buds that “owe him.”

He’s not complaining about Novak apologizing, but complaining Novak hasn’t made paying back Bam a priority.

I feel like his parents would probably be the best people to care for the kid but I havent heard anything about him being with them.

The kid seems to be around. A few months ago there was a video of their nearly 4 year old still grabbing her tit for a meal. Bam sometime shows him as a sidekick.

His wife is there and seems to do the majority of the caretaking of both babies (Bam and the actual baby). His wife strikes me as a codependent mess that would do anything Bam tells her. I think the kid is secondary to Bam and I assumed the kid was her way of keeping Bam connected to her. These were certainly two train wrecks that didn’t need a kid to care for.

The kid would 100% be better off with his grandparents or uncle in PA. It makes me sad when I see him given what we know about Bam’s behavior.

If it wasn’t for the gobs of money they’d be living out of their car panhandling at interstate ramps.

Faggot and homo jokes were a huge part of skate culture. There is a machoism among skaters that fed into that. I don’t think skaters actually care about anyone being gay, but it would prevent you from being in a crew of mostly straight skater dudes hanging out. Just awkward to have an real gay dude when you want to make gay jokes, and paranoia about him giving you a blowjob when you pass out drunk.

ETA: I think Bam could only reinforce the sobriety of his former cast mates, I mean just look at him. He is like the most effect PSA for staying sober.

Skateboarding has long had issues with racism and homophobia.
-Dogtown legend Jay Adams bragged in an interview about how he started a fight with a couple of gay guys that resulted in the death of one.

I was pretty pissed off at everything for no reason, just so I could go out and start fights with people and beat guys up and have my friends beat them up. I started a fight were a guy died and I went to jail for murder, but I got convicted of assault. It was after a show at the Starwood, we went to a place called the Okiedogs and two homosexual guys walked by and I started a fight. That’s just how every fuckin’ night was for me back then. I used to go out and start shit with people, that was my job I was the instigator. We used to have a gang of about forty guys backin’ us up, all Suicidal Boys. So, punk rock to me used to be violence and fuckin’ shit up, but now it’s something I put on to get amped out from the music.

Basically Jay Adams started a fight with two gay guys at a club in LA and the only reason he didn’t go to jail for life is because despite starting the fight he wasn’t the one who finished it. He was also an unapologetic Nazi after his first prison stint and this was largely glossed over until his death despite glaring evidence:

-Close friend of Bam, Danny Way has also barely avoided serving a life sentence for a hate crime. Keith Ogden was a gay pro skateboarder in the 80s who had allegedly hit on Danny Way at a club, when he didn’t take kindly to it he offered Danny cash in a gay for pay situation and Danny started yelling and Danny ended up getting sucker punched. At this point his friends took Keith outside and beat him to death. Josh Swindell was a pro who did most of the beating and he served 19 years. Another guy flipped on Swindell and only served 6. Danny’s statement is as follows:

My side of the story is short: I was not present or involved in that portion of the night and there are a bunch of witnesses that know that. I don't have a firsthand account of the scene that took place because I was not present. I cannot comment on something that I didn't witness.

I feel a ton of empathy for Keith, the Ogden family and anyone else who was affected by what happened. It truly is a horrible thing. I know how serious this hardship has been for all the families involved, which out of respect, has led me to feel conflicted over talking about this all these years. I had no control or influence over anyone's actions that night but my own. I know there are several people, including myself, that could've made some better choices in the dealing of multiple conflicts that arose that night but I would never involve myself in the idea or scene of ending anyone's life under any circumstance! I was only 18-years-old when this happened and, as most teenagers, I wasn't always making the best decisions or surrounding myself with the best influences but I'm definitely not capable of taking someone's life nor would I ever expect anyone to do so for me.

That's all I really want to say about that.

I always thought the car issue with Novak was a little too much, especially for a guy like Bam who has extensive documented evidence of allowing drugged out people trash his house/belongings, harass his family, and steal his food. He also had the habit of leaving the car running with the keys sitting just... there while he was somewhere else, so it's not like he really cares about his personal stuff.

There must be something else going on besides a simple car wreck. Knowing Bam, must be freaky shit since he's a drugged up former enabled rich kid, repressed bisexual with a list of mental illness as lengthy as the fucking bible and paranoid as fuck.
