John is married, and while gay men often cheat, I don't think there's any evidence that that's the case, so AIDS is probably unlikely. I'm almost positive it's some form of cancer because of the base rate.

Prostate cancer would be bad but not life ruining depending on when it was found. Maybe life ruining for a tranny though. It sounds like it's something pretty deadly, or something that's already metastasized. Bone and brain cancer are pretty fucking brutal. Hopefully John just has ass cancer or something. Wouldn't wish bone or brain cancer on anyone.

It's absolutely nothing, if John had something real he could use to claim ultimate victim status, he'd name it, not continually vague post it. He's doing the classic overdramatic teenager thing where you post something like *Sigh* as your status and follow it up with "not gonna be available for awhile" and then spend the next few hours answering any concerned questions with "I don't want to talk about it" while obsessively refreshing.

If I had to guess, it was probably the doctor saying something like "you might be at risk for XYZ" and John is just running with it so he can use the new argument of "I literally gave my health fighting against antisemitism, what have you done"

My money is on John thinking he has whatever horrible "not AIDs" disease that that other Troon just died of. But much worse. Because John always has to one up everyone else.

I rule out brain cancer because that could only improve John's career. Although he has been sounding more sane lately? Maybe it is a tumor talking?

Multiple possibilities here that I can think of:
  1. John actually is having some kind of health scare. It would be ironic if his trooning out is finally doing him in, but it could be anything. Assuming it is real, I could possibly understand keeping the details vague out of a wish for privacy, but the fact that he already has a specific timeline for when he's coming back raises doubts in my mind. If it were something like cancer, that's not a thing that you treat for a few months and then you're done forever.
  2. John is going back for another tranny procedure. Despite how many times he keeps yammering about how good he looks (when he's filtered out the ass), we all know he's self-conscious about his appearance. Going under the knife for a face lift or to try and stave off his male pattern baldness would be consistent with his behavior, and hiding it under the guise of a medical emergency gives him several months to hide while he heals.
  3. John is getting tired of being called out for his troon takes, so he's taking a long vacation. Milk a little sympathy with a fake sob story, fuck off for a few months, let the tranny community forget about him, and then come back once the heat's died down. In order to make this one convincing, he'd have to avoid posting about literally every dumb thing he blows Frank's money on until October, and that would be torture for him.
I'm leaning towards #2, with a little of #3 mixed in as an added side benefit. We already know John lies about basically everything, so why would this be any different? For added irony, he'd also be following in the late Chloe Sagal's footsteps by lying about a troon procedure as some kind of lifesaving surgery.
