Call of Duty Thread - Potential return to form? Or nothing but cope on the horizon? You decide!

Does the Zombies mode really need lore and timelines?
the lore until BO2 came out was that a bunch of people, including a crazed german scientist, teleported around different maps fighting zombies
eventually they unknowingly carried out his evil plan which put him in charge of the zombies and blew up the earth
treyarch introduced a new group of people who survived the explosion but threw them out in favor of gay redesigns of the original crew who aren't as funny or cool
then they said "fuck it" and added lovecraftian gods and other really stupid shit

Black Ops 6 is confirmed to be a Day 1 Game Pass release. I'm expecting the worldwide reveal to have all the Call of Duties on Game Pass after its announcement or them being drip fed over time for anticipation.

Anyone who only plays CoD because of zombies are a Russian Roulette of zoomers, gays, retards, spergs or either some or all of the above
but it's great if you look at it from the perspective of containment.

I HOPE it stays at $16/month. There's a chance that Game Pass will increase in price because it's not doing well. Of course, THAT won't help either.
you can always watch some ads ;^)

Interesting how XDefiant players are complaining about sniper balance when older Call of Duties were worse in that regard. The liberal aim assist in older CoDs would make snipers one shot kills, otherwise known as "quickscoping."

Don't care about the new game, not gonna buy it, not even going to pay attention to it. I've been in full blown COD detox over the last few years, starting with Vanguard and continuing over the last two nu-MW games. I see no reason even pay attention to the new one, other than laughing at it's inevitable horrible problems and related drama that the last few COD games have been full of. Even hate players like BT usually check out before the year is thru and focus on other things, that's how irrelevant the franchise is now.
The ONLY way I will be even remotely interested is if they actually remake Tranzit, like I've heard rumors of Treyarch doing so. Even then I don't care about the latest COD or it's multiplayer, story or even nu-zombies, I simply want the product that was promised me over 10 years ago and Treyarch failed to deliver on(to be fair, that was due to console limitations and lack of time, but that's not an excuse)
Tranzit remake has been cursed, it seems. So much cut content from the original release of BO2, COD Mobile had it for a while(for private testers) but it never officially released, only sticking around as part of that game's Battle Royale map, and BO4 planned to remake the map much like the other DLC maps(again, going as far as including hints of it in other modes), but then Cold War shitshow struck and Zombies was forced to end prematurely...literally, as the last DLC map for this game spells out the end of Aether story that has been ongoing since 2008 at that point. The new zombies mode introduced with Cold War and continued in Vanguard/BO6 is officially "Dark Aether" and I couldn't care less about it.
I still, however, love the basic premise behind Tranzit, and now we have the technology to make it a reality without the fog, denizens ect. The only way to win me back is to make Tranzit 2.0 without any strings attached or bullshit similar to MWIII "Zombies" which was just DMZ with AI bots. Nothing less will satisfy me at this point, I am fully ready to stick with XDefiant and other shooters for the day to day multiplayer at this point and Zombies story(my last anchor to the franchise for years) has officially ended in 2019, as I already said.

I refuse to even play MWII, MWIII and Vanguard out of principle. Their storytelling is over dramatic bile. Multiplayer is spastic in movement and tone.

Black Ops 6 will likely have those same issues, but I hope that Treyarch can pull through with their campaign.

Vanguard, MWII and especially MWIII are THE EXACT SAME GAME, you played either MW4/2019 or Cold War and you already played those. Single player is also nothing special to write about in those games, in fact if this is how bad BO4's campaign was going to be I am glad they axed it.
I seriously doubt Treyarch will pull anything thru. The Black Ops nostalgia has worn thin, I want to see them try something else, but you know even if they wanted to Activision would not allow them to spread their wings. They tried, oh boy did they try, with BO3 and BO4 but somehow, they are always forced to make the same game over and over by the end.
Plus, it's not the same group of people that made WaW, BO1, BO2 or even BO3, many of these devs are completely different people with completely different ideologies. Poor Vanderhaar was brought back for Cold War and guess what, he spend months in his Dodge Ram Powerwagon out in the desert instead of fixing the disaster the game was on launch day, even these old devs don't have the touch anymore.
I wouldn't use the excuse that "Cold War was good, though!" either since it WASN'T Treyarch's game: Most of the work was done by Sledgehammer and Raven. Only towards the end did the SJW California snowflakes over at Sledgehammer have some sort of internal problems with Raven to the point of stalling development, and were forced to cool down and work on Vanguard while Treyarch cleaned up their mess. Most of the work was done by that point, all Treyarch did was make the Zombies mode and "put their own spin" on what was already completed.
BO6(so Cold War is BO5 now?) is going to be all Treyarch, no building blocks to work off of, and remember they already wasted precious development time they had for the game on the universally hated, dead on arrival Vanguard Zombies mode. Their last "proper" game was Black Ops 4 and we know how that went, altho with how awful the franchise is now even that game looks good in comparison. With how deep in shit the franchise is now, I don't see even them pulling a miracle out of their ass, no matter how "good" the game might be. MW2019 was supposed to do that, and how long did that last?
Speaking of Multiplayer, leaks have shown that there is barely anything new from MWII/III in the game, it will be the exact same thing but reskinned(just like Cold War). That game will really ride-or-die on it's Campaign/Zombies this year, especially with XDefiant out right now. Frankly, I don't care about "Black Ops but in 90s" angle or a re-make of BO2, whatever it is they have planned. It's all played out by this point, I don't care about Mason or Woods or anybody else. Introduce new characters and make it your own game at that point, remember when we had spin offs like that? Ghosts, Advanced Warfare, Infinite Warfare, even if not all of them hit all the right notes, at least it was SOMETHING different.
