Call of Duty Thread - Potential return to form? Or nothing but cope on the horizon? You decide!

Couldn't Treyarch add dedicated servers to Zombies? I wanted to play the Outbreak map and 2 times the host decided to quit.

Play Solo

I have only played one Outbreak session with a random group. They were so retarded I found it's much more fun solo.

CoD Mobile has Alcatraz as a Battle Royale map. 40 players but 5 redevelopments. Pretty intense map with its verticality, smaller space and prolonged supply drops.

Of the three developers of Call of Duty, who would you say to be your preferred?

Personally, I would say Treyarch for their innovation since IW did that with CoD 4.

Infinity Ward since they've been making the better campaigns, although Treyarch has improved since BO4.

Sledgehammer was alright in my book, but they sound like they're a bit of a shit show lately. Since I actually enjoyed both Advanced Warfare and WWII for the most part, I hope they can pull themselves together for this year's game, especially if the rumors of it being set in the Pacific War are true.

COD in the pacific is a interesting idea , just hope it wont be a retread of WaW , the pacific gives more room for the more close quarters fighting than the western front
I won't mind seeing Okinawa or Peleliu again, but I hope they cover other battles like Iwo Jima and Guadalcanal.

Seeing those battles in the MW engine could be a visual feast, I hope Sledgehammer can do the setting justice.

World at War was an underrated CoD with its World War II setting. I would love a remaster or another CoD that retells the horrors of WWII with the Japanese and Russians. And Africa.

eh, WaW was a bit too tryhard for my taste, medal of honor did it better.

I swear to god WaW is one of the most highly rated cods out there , out of 30,523 reviews on steam its got a 93% positive score , according to Wikipedia it was very well received , how is it underrated?

At the time, it was lightly derided as a "regression" for being a WWII game after the first Modern Warfare.

It was still seen as a good game, and people look back on it fondly when compared to later titles like COD WWII.

It may or may not be a coincidence that the next title is rumored to take place on the Pacific and Eastern fronts.

It got shit on pretty hard. Remember, this is CoD where 10/10 is default.

We had been playing nothing but WWII shooters for several years when MW came out so it was a breath of fresh air. Then WaW drops and we were all pissed we had to kill Nazis again for the billionth time.

How are we feeling about Jackal as an operator?
I personally find him the most interesting out of the whole 'I love Peresus but hate America and Adler and I wear a half mask" series of BP operators we're getting.

Berlin's finally coming in mid-season along with Weaver as a playable operator.

Still waiting for Menendez or Mason as operators though

Can I ask why you think Jackal is more interesting? He seems just as generic as all the rest who aren't Stitch at this point. (and the only reason Stitch is "interesting" is they established a backstory for him)

I don't think we're going to be seeing Menendez or Mason outside of easter egg mentions. I get the feeling they're wanting to be super vague about Black Ops 2's standing in the new timeline.

BO2 literally cannot happen at this rate the cartel map mentioned Mennendez though.

Also as for Vanguard lets give sledgehammer one last chance. WW2 became a very good COD after they kicked out its director and it’s on the MW engine so I at least want to see it.

Agreed but you can't tell fanboys that without them crying their eyes out so they're going to have Menendez and Mason mentioned but not shown until they absolutely have to make it known that this is, in fact, taking place in the "new" timeline (as if it wasn't obvious as fuck but we're talking about CoD fanboys here). And then they'll release some skin packs and make tons of money before being like "oh yeah, this is new canon so forget BO2 lol"
