Call of Duty Thread - Potential return to form? Or nothing but cope on the horizon? You decide!

I've seen alot of people mention that Sten gun bolt, but can someone enlighten me on what exactly is wrong with it? I don't know enough about old guns.

Basically if the bolt worked like that it would fuck your hand up. It even looks like it's clipping into his thumb in that pic to me and I'm guessing the animator did it backwards or something. That's not even getting into how he is holding it, and the stock appears to be...sideways?

I never played WWII but I saw gun autists have a shit fit over how all the guns had problems in the game. I'd expect it to continue with this, especially if there is a gunsmith mode with a bunch of attachments. It doesn't really bother me personally because I'd have never noticed if it wasn't pointed out but yeah a lot of people get upset about these kind of cock ups.

Edit: Here's a video showing one being fired so you can get an idea of what's fucked up about it.

TL;DR: Everything.

I'm sure you can see right away that bolt has more wrong with it than Bobby "That Boy Ain't Right" Hill, and the stock is sideways, and its an open-bolt gun, which means the bolt is locked backwards until you pull the trigger, at which point it slams forwards, loading the round from the magazine and firing.

CoD has never got anything gun related correct. You can't actually quickscope with a Cheytac in real life. The worst is having all the assault rifles that use the same cartridge and have the same barrel length have different power levels.

Trailer was pretty shit but cinematic trailers usually dont excite me BUT I amactually excited to see gameplay it it's using the MW engine because that was genuinely a great game imo.

Don't care about muh blacks and women being overrepresented in the marketing or even gameplay because it's CoD, if I want realism I'll play Hell Let Loose or something.

Those are gameplay things, though. CoD has never been a simulator.

What CoD has been, and especially in the past few years I think, is very focused on presentation though. So you'd think that the guns would at least look like they should in cinematics.

Ahh, I see it now. That dude's fingers are going to get fucked.

Well MW2019 was kinda made for gun autism and had minimal errors besides some minor things.

I wish Treyarch would make the tank go a bit faster in Outbreak.

Sure but I think since MW2019 they have tried to make accurate models, that said they do go all over the place on the microtransaction side:

To be perfectly fair, that's Cold War, and Treyarch have zero care for accuracy, realism, or good taste.

You look at that motorcycle gun and tell me there's a fair and just god.

Yeah. There are some guns that work like that (the Winchester 1897 shotgun off the top of my head), but Sten is not one of them.
It's like if you made a trailer for a racing game where a front-wheel drive car was doing burnouts with the rear tires.

Yeah, I enjoy Cold War enough but boy did I feel some pangs of autism when that fucking Soviet soldier in the bunker pulled out a 1911 on me. Or when the armory in the KGB had western weapons in it.

I don't care about it as much in multiplayer because it's fucking multiplayer, but god damn do I hate it when this shit gets passed off into the campaign.

Apparently Search and Destroy is stupid broken with weapon xp so with double weapon xp you can literally level up weapon with single digit kills.

I wouldn't call it "broken," just working as intended. Search & Destroy gets you 10x XP with each kill, you should be able to level up quickly. Double XP helps with that.

Dear god, I'm scared to imagine what WWII weapon's gonna get mutilated like this poor LMG.

Much as I bitch about Battlefield V, they at least had the decency to make their guns look like guns.

I hope Cold War's population won't be affected by Vanguard's release. What am I saying, of course it will be. I noticed Treyarch is "helping" with Zombies for Vanguard. Is that they abandoned their OWN Zombies mode? Want more Zombies, buy Vanguard.

Indeed but now that the new BF is focusing on specialists and battle passes, who knows what kind of wacky shit they're going to make.

Yeah, I'm pretty much giving up hope on Battlefield or COD looking properly military so long as MTs are a thing.

I honestly prefer map packs over live services, at least then they had to support games and didn't rely on wacky shit.

I'm thinking they're either going to have attachments that look functionally identical like Cold War does, or it's going to be a bunch of made up shit. Either way, you'll be able to pay 24$ to skin the gun to look like a loli while using the worst attachments possible.

It's genuinely hard to tell because of their weasel words. I'm hoping it's not done because Cold War is really building up to something with Maxis, Requiem and the monsters hiding in the Aether. Would be awfully nice if they could finish that before going full prequel.

Yeah, I give a lot of CoD autists shit for how they try to make the skins and shit "work" in a storyline for a fucking battle royale game.

Buuuuuut I'm also kind of autistic and fucking hate all the skins in this game. The base Perseus operators are about as "far out there" as I want it to get. They're fun but they still look military. All these clown outfits and graffitti artist skins are way too stupid to me.

It was so much better when there were specific skins for specific maps IMO.
