Call of Duty Thread - Potential return to form? Or nothing but cope on the horizon? You decide!

The fucking wording on the zombies content seems a bit weaselly, but does this mean Cold War is not getting anymore zombies content? Because zombies is literally the only reason why I haven't uninstalled Cold War, and if it's not getting anymore content, I'll just pull that fucking plug now.

I doubt it is. I'm guessing the "leaks" of a year 2 of Zombies just means it will be part of Vanguard.

At best, Outbreak might keep getting content but there have been rumors of a f2p standalone version of Outbreak floating around for a while now.

Anyone log into Modern Warfare today? I logged into Cold War and saw that we now have an entire section of the main menu devoted to pre ordering Vanguard. I remember how upset MW players got when Cold War was added to their main menu so if this got added too ohhhhh boy.

Edit: Just saw a video of the Battle for Verdansk event. WTF? Is every event just going to be you getting hopelessly bombed?

I actually liked this event granted I just flew a helicopter as Rebel Yell played with people launching RPGs at the train.

I will hold out for Vanguards multiplayer a lot of what I am seeing sounds good. Destruction, MW2019 engine, 14 multiplayer maps, and gun smith getting expanded. I hate Cold War a lot but if anything we will have to wait another year for Infinity Ward to save us if Vanguard does flop.

So I know I was giving sledgehammer some slack but probably multiplayer seeing an MG42 in the new engine was nice but single player is not lookin too hot this the lead writer holy fuck.

How does a game that basically is USA military propaganda and seemingly has one of the most toxic fanbase get these developers to work on it.

WE WUZ IN WW2 N SHIET

There has got to be millions of americans who write us military stories/ Us propaganda yet the chose to go the rout which almost guaranteethat the campagin will flop. Why? Who are they focus testing? White guilt Soccer moms?

I've been playing Black Ops 1 zombies since it game out. Beyond that I have had no desire to play any of the CoD games, with the exception of Advanced Warfare. I bought it and was utterly disappointed by the garbage level design and extreme linearity, even for god it's damn linear.

If you like zombies just stick with the old games. Get some of the boys together for matches.

Lol how will it flop with black people involved? Black Americans did fight in World War 2. Out of the 16,000,000 U.S. military personnel over a million and a half were black. Next largest minority group was the Japanese Americans with around 33,000. How is having black people in the game targeting white guilt soccer moms?

Another woke WW2 game? I changed my mind, they're trying to be the next Battlefield V.

Battlefield 2042 is going to wipe Vanguard to the ground.

I think a lot of people have a misconception over this, of the 16 main COD titles only 5 are set in WW2.

Since the modern COD era started with Modern Warfare there's been two WW2 COD games, this will be the 3rd.

The irony is that Battlefield V came after 2017's COD WW2 because that game was immensely popular.

The voice actor for the black soldier in the trailer sounds like Idris Elba but I can't find him credited anywhere for the roll. He was in COD Advanced Warfare.

I'm more excited about playing Warzone in a WW2 environment than the normal multiplayer. It's not that I think the game will be bad, but MW2019 really spoiled me with things like opening / closing doors and I found it hard to go back to Cold War because it feels so stripped down.

By the way if you want lulz, watch the Vanguard trailer when the black soldier is firing the STEN gun, for some reason the bolt is recoiling out of the rear of the gun which is impossible. The STEN's bolt is captured by the rear of the receiver.

"Never seen a special ops unit before" Bah ha ha ha ha.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brandenburgers
Originally, the unit was formed by and operated as an extension of the military's intelligence organ, the Abwehr. Members of this unit took part in seizing operationally important targets by way of sabotage and infiltration. Being foreign German nationals who were convinced Nazi volunteers, constituent members had lived abroad and were proficient in foreign languages as well as being familiar with the way of life in the area of operations where they were deployed.
The Nazis invented fucking Foxhound.
EDIT: It gets better.
Brandenburg units were deployed as small commando outfits to penetrate into enemy territory and conduct both sabotage and anti-sabotage operations. Despite their demonstrated successes while incurring minimum casualties, many traditionally-minded German officers still found their use abhorrent. Most of the personnel were fluent in other languages, which allowed them, for example, to penetrate the Netherlands in 1940 disguised as Dutch barge crews just before the start of the invasion. In 1941, they preceded the invasion of Yugoslavia undercover as Serbian workers. During the night before Operation Barbarossa began, Brandenburger units crossed the Soviet border disguised as Soviet workers and Red Army soldiers. Others even adorned themselves in Arab garments to conduct surveillance on Allied warships traversing between the Straits of Gibraltar and North Africa ahead of the Wehrmacht deployment there. Correspondingly, Department II of the Abwehr, under which the Brandenburgers were subsumed, had a distinct sub-component for army, navy, and air force operations.
Many of the Brandenburgers were misfits who could hardly be characterized as conventional soldiers, due in large part to the nature of their operations. They would mingle with enemy soldiers, secretly countermand orders, redirect military convoys, and disrupt communications—all the while collecting intelligence along the way. (Emphasis Mine.)

At this point wait for IW to save the franchise again I swear it’s like this shit is rigged or something.

Also by the way vanguard might introduce some newer stuff to the mechanics. Doors can be destroyed and the environment can be destroyed more than usual in a cod game too apparently. Said mechanics are coming to warzone too.

They just need to stop being a yearly franchise. It isn't working.
The receipts show it is still working. MW2019 basically got the series on a new resurgence of sorts at this point. People might just buy vanguard to level up in warzone faster too.

I’d love if Activision didn’t fuck over MW and supported it more though.

The funny thing is I usually prefer the Treyarch games to IW, I loved Black Ops 2, and Black Ops 4 to a lesser extent.

I felt like BO4 brought some cool game modes like Heist which was basically a Counter Strike type game and surprised it hasn't popped up in any other CODs.

But MW2019 managed to capture both the field of MW2 but modernized it. It's hard to explain I guess, the doors as far as game play goes, the weapon customization, and the animations were just more polished than Cold War.

I considered Cold War a more arcady take from Modern Warfare (2019). That could work. I think, they can coexist for different styles of play.

Weird question, but does anyone actually care about Call of Duty League?

I've had Youtube recommend me some videos giving the "story" of the teams and I'm just WTFing at anyone giving a shit about this stuff.

There has to be, I see people running around in the fucking retarded CDL skin and the CDL team skins. Clearly some retards out there love that shit.

CoD is not meant to be competitive with its short TTK and weapon imbalance.
