Call of Duty Thread - Potential return to form? Or nothing but cope on the horizon? You decide!

Die Hard. I think Activision lost the rights to it. At least you have the skin.

You have the skin, right?

The music from Die Hardpoint and Ranbos Gun Game were original soundtracks Treyarch had commissioned for the game mode, I'm pretty sure.

I know Rambos Gun Game was original, at least.

Fuck no I don't have the skins. I don't spend money on anything but the battle pass and even that's not really true cause the copy I bought came with the first one one.

What about the rights for the Die Hard characters? IRC, it was a promotional event.

Looks like shit. The overly cinematic thing for WWII grinds my gears for some reason. Guess I'm just too used to the early CoD's.

I'll just stick with Cold War or play more RPG's this year.

Edit: Also another L for leakers. Wasn't this supposed to take place AFTER WWII or something?

This guy apparently got to play some of the campaign and got a general presentation about it. I haven't watched it all the way through but I guess there is info here about the characters and such.

I'm not going to buy it. If rentals were still a thing I'd maybe rent it but they're not so oh well

Here's your trailer bro

Okay. Let me start with stuff I LIKED about the trailer:

North Africa in the game. Okay, I'm getting CoD2 vibes with that.
A female Russian sniper in the trailer. Now, THOSE did exist. I sense Activision throwing shade at Battlefield V.
The Treyarch logo at the end of the trailer. Treyarch has proven themselves after their Black Ops III and IV backlash, so I am seeing some promise.

It does look to be a bit more gritty than their previous WW2 game. I would like them to go the World at War route, but that seems unlikely.

However, it IS just going to be more CoD. Sledgehammer will play it safe, most likely. I saw the Eastern Front segment, they aren't showing the swastika. I mean, come on. It's a WW2 game. I'm sure the audience can handle it. The fanatical character design looks to be window dressing for Warzone. They WILL try to connect Vanguard with Warzone lore.

Black Ops Cold War's teaser was leagues better. They had some guts to use Bezmonov's "know your history" speech which had actual implantation in current events.

So I know I was giving sledgehammer some slack but probably multiplayer seeing an MG42 in the new engine was nice but single player is not lookin too hot this the lead writer holy fuck.

How does a game that basically is USA military propaganda and seemingly has one of the most toxic fanbase get these developers to work on it.

Oh for fuck's sake.

I guess Sledgehammer is just determined to cement themselves as the worst COD developer.

Another woke WW2 game? I changed my mind, they're trying to be the next Battlefield V.

Battlefield 2042 is going to wipe Vanguard to the ground.

So heres the funny thing I think Activision knows this and the trailer looked like regular WW2 right? So the early parts of the campaign will be introducing you to the main characters and what they did during the war. The rest of the campaign is where the alt history leaks came from in that the MCs are part of a team to stop nazi remnants in 1946.

Activision must have ordered to not show any of that crap in the trailer for reasons.
