Call of Duty Thread - Potential return to form? Or nothing but cope on the horizon? You decide!

Write it again.

It was me just listing all the stupid shit I've seen CoD fanboys cook up to "explain" things that need no explanation. Notable examples being that MW2019 is a prequel to the original Modern Warfare despite MW being in 2011 and MW2019 being in 2019 and Gaz being a completely different race between series.

When Price was placed into BOCW I'd seen everything from "He's Prices father" to "The Verdansk nuke sent everyone back to 1984," When in reality they're just fucking character skins with no effect on the plot.

I've even seen debates on how Perseus operators can work with NATO operators within Requim in the Zombies storyline. When I try to explain to them that in actuality they are just skins and are just nameless Requim agents and the plot is entirely driven by Weavers team, they just get autistically mad and explain "No dude, I play as Stitch in Zombies, so why doesn't Adler just shoot him?" and recently the explanation has gone to "Well, it's because Adler and the rest are being controlled by the numbers!!"

I've never seen such a normie fanbase care about canon so much, and the fact they just go completely fucking haywire if you try to explain "it's just a game" reaches weird levels of autism I didn't think possible. I wonder if it has something to do with the popularity of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and "everything being connected" or what.

Teaser for CoD Vanguard

The trailer will be released this Thursday.

I thought MW2019 was a reboot, not a prequel. Speaking of that, Cold War was meant to be a midquel for the Black Ops canon. Lord knows that canon was messed up after Black Ops III. I'm hearing that Cold War retconned events of Black Ops II to IV (and the Vita spinoff, Declassified.) In my opinion, that's fine. II barely progressed their own canon and III went off the rails.

The Zombies canon is tricky enough as it is after Black Ops thanks to its complex, practically impossible Easter eggs. Now they're trying to do that with Warzone? How can you keep up with the lore inconsistencies? In a battle royale game? I think it's impossible to tell a coherent, evolving story in an online environment.

It is. A lot of CoD fans are just fucking retarded and feel a need for it all to connect. Some cannot accept that Modern Warfare 2019 was a reboot and everything since is part of this rebooted universe.

I don't even think Cold War is really meant to be a midquel. It's just Black Ops in this new universe, and only because they really needed Mason, Woods and Hudson to sell people on a game that was clearly rushed. The only reason Black Ops 1 is "canon" is because they needed a background for said characters without any setup. (this was also done with Modern Warfare 2019 to a lesser extent, but instead of directly carrying stuff over they just made similar events from the original game as part of Prices background. But I don't think it's noticeable unless you really pay attention or read a wiki)

The only reason Activision would consider CoD to be a "connected universe" is to make money. Warzone is a platform; they can sell skins and people will buy it, no questions asked. Remember when CoD would haggle your wallet? Now CoD is haggling your hard drive. It makes NO SENSE for Warzone to take up so much space.

It makes no sense that anyone even plays Warzone. Battle Royale is a gay ass game mode full of hackers, children and faggot influencers.
The COD fanbase just sucks it doesn't even have funny shit like cows to make fun of. It is a horrible amalgamation of normies, boomers, zoomers, and the worst of modern FPS players.

They make explicit mentions of Raul Menedez and reference Declassified. In the MP map cartel the flavor text describes it as a raid on the menendez cartel, as well as it being the setup for a mission in declassified.

And MW2019 makes references to Imran Zakhaev and General Shepard.

If there is one thing I hate it has to be the SBMM argument. I understand not wanting a hardcore match making system but the amount of complaining over it just makes me say its good. I think its the fact it comes from multiple top youtubers who push it on their fanbases to hate it.

These youtubers are basically the best players in the world yet they want to face literal disabled people for easy gameplay. COD has been releasing for what? 20 years straight at this point? People on average are just better at gaming nowadays with or without SBMM.

Except I can feel the SBMM actively fucking me. I'll spend 10 matches getting my ass absolutely stomped by the absolute sweatiest metafags imaginable only to finally get a match where I'm against players that feel my skill level and I can do competently, then repeat the cycle.

This only seems to happen to me the first two or three days at the start of the Seasons tbqh

Maybe it's because I play Hardcore, but I never have more than two matches where I get blown out. Then it will either give me a few blowout matches before equaling out or it will equal out right away.

I also typically stick to a single playlist instead of just clicking all of them on clickplay and jumping around constantly.

While you get some bullshit matches, it's never been nearly as bad as people seem to make it out to me.

Which is hilarious, as it's obvious as fuck that most of them game the system with multiple accounts or router configurations to get into retard tier matchups from their gameplay footage half the time.

lmao I thought mods were being gay but to reiterate what I said again, they're releasing mason and Ghostface from scream in S6

I wouldn't mind them keeping Black Ops 2.

I'd rather they do something new. Black Ops 2 isn't bad like BO3 and 4, but I'd hate for them to try to ram a bunch of future shit into Modern Warfare 2 in their dumbass attempt to make everything connect.
