Call of Duty Thread - Potential return to form? Or nothing but cope on the horizon? You decide!

Personally, I'm a fan of the Imperial Japan and Russian factions from World at War. The attention to detail with the announcers, maps and models made them menacing to witness.

Now that I think of it, their German symbolism for the Wehrmacht is actually historically accurate without using a basic Iron Cross.

Different factions is what gave multiplayer personality. Black ops 2 had like 6 and I can remember some lines from every faction. It's a shame that the WW2 game with Britain, the U.S, ANZAC, Soviets, Japan, and Germany only have one announcer for all locations. Honestly I was hoping the African Campaign was against Italy, we haven't seen much representation with them (which makes sense).

Is it me or does World at War's multiplayer have terrible hit detection? I don't know if it's my Internet or the engine but I swear that WaW can be "janky" at times.

Just saw this article and it's pretty stupid because:

1. COD already has iconic characters. Price, Soap, Reznov, Woods, etc.
2. Comparing your writing, which will most likely be bad fanfiction tier at best, to Halo and Master Chief :story:
3. For some reason I doubt Vanguard will get a sequel at all, let alone two.

"We came into this process saying, 'how do we make the iconic COD characters?' because you don't really have that in CoD right now"
Really, Sam? You don't need 3 games to make your self-insert an "iconic" character.

That is easily the dumbest fucking thing I've read today, and I've been browsing the forums.

No iconic characters? I guess nobody coomed when they saw Price get added (twice), or Soap, or Mason, or Samantha Maxis, and absolutely nobody would coom themselves to death if the OG zombies crew got added.

those are not her characters and/or woke enough.
you have to remember for leftards like that there was never anything like that before until they "break ground" with it.

also she can suck it, IW's salt is an absolutely great written female character that's even with the game bombing will be more iconic then whatever "I was virtually raped in gta" can shit out. besides, the only thing deciding if a sequel gets the green light is when it makes enough money for activision.

So I decided to get back on Cold War for season six today and I clicked on the regular battle pass and for some reason it gave me the stupid 21 tier unlock battle pass with the Panda skins instead.

Oh well, I wasn't planning on using those extra CoD points from the other season passes on anything specific anyways (although I could have gotten somethign way better than...panda skins?)

but this feels like some bullshit to screw people who may have actually been saving them for something.

And I really gotta ask WTF is Sledgehammer smoking? CoD doesn't have iconic characters? Price, Soap, Mason, Woods, Hudson, Reznov, the whole Zombies crew are not iconic? Hell, I'd argue even Park is iconic now thanks to all the simps.

Or did he just mean THEY don't have iconic characters. Cause I agree with that. Sledgehammer games have been forgettable all around.

I got worried for a moment when Cold War told me that I had unlocked the Vanguard battle pass.

Yeah, that was jarring as well.

Like, I'm willing to say that maybe I thought I clicked the regular one and actually clicked the other one since apparently that happened the opposite way for people last time who wanted the one with the Fox skin with the mask or whatever.

But like...no confirmation? No "are you sure you want to buy the special battle pass?" message? Seems super fucking convenient considering I had saved all the extra points from the other passes. (mostly cause I don't give a fuck about the microtransactions anyways, but hell I would have taken a Hudson skin over pandas if it was free)

and the dumb thing about the panda skins is that you don't unlock the default version of the character.

It's the same thing with buying BP tiers. Ever wonder why the button to skip the anything is the same button to quick buy a tier?

Zombies looks okay, but with how Cold War handled zombies I'm not going to buy Vanguard just for it. Better to wait for some kind of sale after they release all the content for it IMO.

First rule of making iconic characters, you LET the characters determine if they're "iconic." Writing helps strongly.

I remember the Kevin Spacey guy.

I have some general questions for all COD players in here.

Are all COD Youtubers shills? And I mean channels that focus on news, lore etc. and not Youtubers like Nickmercs (may he rot in hell).
I was looking for some COD critical streams by players or pros and couldn't find anything solid. Instead, I found a podcast where 2 betas
unironically praise Activision for releasing skins for 20 or 40 bucks at the end of the lifecycle of the current game (CW) where you can earn 500 CP points back = approx. 5 bucks).

Furthermore I'd like to know what the average age of a COD player is because I refuse to believe that the majority actually works for the money they shove Activion in their ass just to play as Rambo. It's gotta be the clueless parents. Right?
