Call of Duty Thread - Potential return to form? Or nothing but cope on the horizon? You decide!

I'm actually seeing some people get upset over this shit and saying they're done with Call of Duty.

We can certainly hope they stand their ground. I deleted it off my PC and did my part, but I was about two weeks early and did it more because it just fucking sucks and I haven't played it in over a month.

In response, Activision delisted their sponsored bundle with him in Modern Warfare II:

I love it when companies "take a stand" on social issues amidst a sea of their OWN internal bullshit.

In other CoD news, Warzone 1.0 will be discontinued on September 21, 2023. Purchased skins will be exclusive to their respective games by then. I hope that means that MW2019/CW/Vanguard will have their file sizes massively decreased.

Just beat Cod: WWII's campaign on Veteran. A by the numbers WW2 campaign moved by its ensemble of American characters. I liked the inclusion of a French resistance mission where you infiltrate a Nazi compound. More annoying than difficult with checkpoints that CAN put you in the line of fire. And that tank sequence.

As of now, the Variety Map Pack for the original CoD4 is free on Xbox Marketplace.

That is something. I hope the others will be free as well.

Holy shit the new season is fucking god awful. They made a bunch of retarded changes to DMZ;
  • If you plea after death, the squad that killed you cannot revive you. You have to rely on a separate squad to be benevolent and come pick you up, and that whoever killed your didn't decide to camp your body for more kills
  • Responding to a plea no longer adds them to your squad, and since most people are used to it working like that, you're likely to forgot to send an invite leading to one of the two parties just killing the other once the 30 seconds of truce is ended
  • If you kill too many players, including in self defense, the game siccs an AI squad after you to kill you
  • The Boys powers either suck (3/4 of them) or too strong (laser eyes)
  • Building 21 loot is currently bugged, all containers are empty for no fucking reason
  • A rare-ish bug since season 2 where you occasionally load in without your gun has gotten worse. Now, you will randomly load in without guns, armor or backpack
  • Server stability has fucking shit itself, and playing can be randomly impossibly frustrating

Meanwhile, CoD4, MW2, Black Ops are experiencing a resurgence of players on Xbox since the server fix. I'm tempted to find a couple copies for nostalgia, but those games have hackers.

Who's the executive that approved such a crossover? Superheroes in Call of Duty? This isn't Fortnite. At least I hope not.

The worst part is it could have worked but they chose to put in the super heroes instead of the actual boys, like Butcher, the former SAS leader of the group. Hell, even Soldier Boy would have fit better than fucking starlight.

The Last Stand, check your goodwill's. I got 2, 4, MW, MW2, Black Ops, and Advanced Warrior. Sadly goodwill has raised video game prices to $4, but that's still not much of a hardship.

I wish Advanced would go to ten bux on steam, I want to press F to pay respect.

I remember when at least one political faction in America thought monopolies are bad. Just add a few rainbow flags, and presto! Buying your competition's suppliers out from under them is okay.

There's a local game shop nearby me. No way I'm paying more than $20 for Call of Duty. It may just be CoD4 or MW3.

I'm still at disbelief on why LGBTQ+ flags are the only playercards unlocked by default in a war shooter.
