As someone who is actively playing MWIII myself... I admit, I'm struggling to have fun myself. From a gameplay standpoint, it's pretty hit or miss on whether or not I'll get to be in a decent lobby; there's some lobbies where you'll be getting decent spawns and fair gunfights, but plenty of others will constantly put you directly in the enemy's line of fire and kill you instantly. Some of the maps do look nice, but most of the maps just feel like remixes of earlier CoD maps, or just look so similar that they feel dull; not helped by having a pretty good chunk of maps taken from the older games, either, even in the upcoming season. Even the Shipment 24/7 playlist is a hit-or-miss, as the gameplay just gets dominated by sweats constantly, and it doesn't help that a lot of players refuse to play the objective, either.
Also, constant lag and crappy connection; never great in general, but in MWIII, it feels like I'm bouncing around and lagging constantly. I don't know if it has to do with where I live, or if the game's coding is that bad, but it gets annoying.
Warzone... never could get into it, honestly. I gave it a shot; once with a duo match, once as a solo, and... well, it certainly seems to be where all of the sweats are. Granted, I haven't exactly played very many games of it, but I really want to ask; why is it so popular with the devs and playerbase, again? Because instead of the constant action-packed party that the trailers portray, it's a fairly dull slog dominated by tryhards, in my experience.
Also... is it just me, or do guns feel really weird in this game? Like, in some matches they feel really strong, but in other matches you dump half a mag into someone and they don't die.
As for Zombies; I have had some fun with it, I admit. I do like the idea behind it, to some extent; taking place in this large, open map, where you and your crew have to scavenge for supplies and such while completing objectives. Kinda like DayZ to some extent; feels like an interesting step in comparison to the prior Zombie modes, without the round focus. That said, the fact that it's basically just a Warzone reskin certainly takes away some points; while re-using assets isn't anything new for Zombies in particular, it honestly feels rather blatant here, as the dev team didn't even try to make a new map. Also, the time limit is a major downside, as it severely hampers the amount of stuff anyone can get done; means that you have to try and rush to do everything, and you'd be surprised how fast time can go when you're killing hordes. Doesn't help the devs keep nerfing certain builds, or the rumor that they might be adding PVP into MWZ in the future.
As I mentioned previously; only reason why I even have the game is because a friend of mine was really, really wanting to have someone to play Zombies with... and even then, I'm tempted to just drop the game entirely anyways. The upcoming season, while looking like it does have some interesting content, is still unlikely to really change my mind on this game, and I just don't know how to feel about it, honestly.
Actually, this talk of MWIII's content and upcoming season reminds me of another CoD game that I was interested in giving another shot; Advanced Warfare. I played the shit out of it on the PS3 back when it came out, but I never did try the PS4/5 version. Thing is, I don't really know if it's worth it at this point; the game is pretty old at this point, and I'm fairly certain it's likely dead at this point. Not to mention, I already had all of the DLC for the game on PS3; white I can't access it anymore, it does make me wonder if I should go ahead and spend a bunch of money on content that I had already owned previously.
