I'm still on the game that Black Ops II was highly overrated, so this means nothing for me to sell on Black Ops 7.

Eh, it was pretty decent back in the day; had some good maps, gunplay was fairly solid, Zombies was excellent, etc. That said, I think nostalgia plays a very big part, as well as most of the CoD games afterwards being complete shit.

Real talk, though; has anyone else had an extreme amount of difficulty "getting into" any of the older CoD games? Seriously, outside of Ghosts, just about all of the other games have just made me more annoyed whenever I try to play them.

Not at all, unless you count getting a good multiplayer match. At this point, it is a pointless exercise. This is why I said you should stick to offline experiences or bot matches in multi.

Private Match stuff is basically what I was looking for, yeah; Ghost's can be surprisingly hilarious. Thing is, it's the only one that really FEELS fun to play these days, all of the other CoD games just don't feel worth it. I feel like I've done all that I can in IW, WWII bored me to tears, MWR just doesn't have anything that interests me at this point, BO4's got that shit with Prophet, MW2019 onwards all have that "current year" feel to them (haven't even touched BO6)... right now, I'm debating on whether or not to get the DLC for AW and BO3, as the content looks pretty solid but I'm hesitant on dropping $50-$60 for the experience right now.

BOII had the best weapon/perk/gadget/streak selection of any 360/PS3 era COD. I think it's the only one of that era where 3 or 4 meta weapons didn't completely dominate online matches, no one perk that everyone just had to had, and no one streak that would just make everyone quit because they could all be countered effectively. The maps were merely okay. They weren't great, but they weren't bad, either. The graphics were also kind of ugly, as Treyarch never had the visual design talent IW had. But since they nailed the create-a-class options so well, it felt the best to play out of all of them. That's why it's so fondly remembered.

WWII, no, on account of the Game Pass having more players in more games mode than just Team Deathmatch and Shipment 24/7.

Other CoDs, I’ve noticed it can be difficult to find something outside of Team Deathmatch. If you have DLC installed, excluding MW3, you cannot choose to matchmake for just the base maps. Call of Duty 3 is a special case. Sometimes, you cannot connect with a Quick Match.

lmao the WWII servers have been shut down because of the number of people getting hacked. Eat shit Activision.

Get ready for BO7 to be the new MW6 aka MW2023, aka MW5(2022).5 standalone DLC bought for full price. Oh wait, at least you could carry over cosmetics between these two games, with BO6 your shitty cartoon skins are forever stuck in that one soon to be dead game, just like Activision will forever have your money.

Clip is right at the start, altho this seems to be a best-hits compilation of sorts, so if you want to catch Activision lies from at least Vanguard era, this is the video for you.
Meh, just seems like the COD community really, REALLY likes to complain.

Are the cosmetics cringe and annoying? Yeah sure. Just don’t buy them.

Idk man. As someone pretty new to the franchise (played some Zombie annd warzone occasionally, but only really started playing CoD seriously for six months. Always been more of a BF guy.) it’s weird how much hate the game gets.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s not perfect. Some of the spawns are ridiculous, I’ve had occasional crashes, but if you listen to some of the YouTubers, they make the game sound virtually unplayable. And meanwhile, I’m here on my PS5, barely having seen a hacker ever, having a good time.

Idk… Maybe Activision are just too good at monetizing and keeping people hooked, leaving some of these kids to have the same attitude to Activision as a junkie has to a dealer?

Sure, the skins and monetization is bullshit, but in terms of value for money, CoD is a pretty sweet deal. Got the game around Christmas for 40$, and have an hour daily in it since then. That sure fucking beats spending 20$ in the cinema for 2 hours of capeshit.

"Why should we fix our software that is still for sale and still online? We've already made 99% of the profit from it."
Sure, but be honest here. If they quit selling it and shut down servers (it’s a what… Five year old game?) you’d complain about that too, wouldn’t you?

Idk. I personally don’t like the new COD every year model. I’m sure it makes great financial sense, but leads to a lot of consumer anger.

Sure, but other people will buy them and/or participate with them. Activision would see the engagement and double down on it. A better answer would be to not play the game at all.

Playing a video game and watching a movie is not the same experience.

The next crossover for Black Ops 6 looks to be ... American Dad, another cartoon.

If you're still buying CoD after seeing its Fortniteification in MWII, thinking it was ever going to be different, you're only getting what you deserve.

I guess Archer is inevitably going to show up now. Maybe Bob's Burgers.

I can tell you're new to the franchise because you have a retarded tourist take. If you're going to support Activision and their abuse of literal retards(modern COD fan) at this point, you're part of the problem and I hope your computer gets bricked by hackers.

Activision is in a lose-lose situation with Black Ops 7 because of Black Ops 6. If they do Carry Forward like they did from MWII to MWIII, the aesthetic will once again be tarnished by those nonsense operators. If they don't, well, all that money "invested" into collaboration skins was now wasted. I can't wait to see the aftermath.

Been replaying the ye oldest CoD games, as in CoD1, UO, CoD2, WaW. Even made this autistic list of missions by historic dates. Good times are had.
Haven't gotten to CoD3 yet, never played it before.
What is the consensus on CoD3? Some say the campaign is ass, others say it's pretty cool.

COD 3 was mostly overlooked because it never came to PC and because it was the game released right around the time when everyone wanted COD4 instead. Everybody was sick of WW2 by that point, but if you took time to play it, it's arguably one of the better entries. It's the only game in the franchise with Australian and Polish soldiers, so you get a little variety instead of the usual US/British/Russian protagonists.
Multi was fantastic, War mode from WaW was based off the capture the flag mode in COD 3 and it has vehicles, too. Good luck finding a game nowdays, tho.

BTW, if anyone is interested, here is a video of someone going thru Veteran Mode on quite literally every COD game in chronological order of release, yes that includes the Java games nobody played.
He goes up to MW2019/MW2 Remastered since these were the newest game up until that point, altho he did release follow up episodes of him playing later entries on Veteran up until MW2022 I think.

The campaign is fine enough. The gameplay lacks polish on account of Treyarch only having 8-9 months to develop it right after Big Red One. Multiplayer is drastically different from what you expect from CoD. Vehicles, larger maps, four of the five modes being objective based. If you can find it cheap, give it a try. I would not recommend the PS3 version because of its low framerate and forced motion controls.
