Call of Duty Thread - Potential return to form? Or nothing but cope on the horizon? You decide!

Yeah, I give a lot of CoD autists shit for how they try to make the skins and shit "work" in a storyline for a fucking battle royale game.

Buuuuuut I'm also kind of autistic and fucking hate all the skins in this game. The base Perseus operators are about as "far out there" as I want it to get. They're fun but they still look military. All these clown outfits and graffitti artist skins are way too stupid to me.

It was so much better when there were specific skins for specific maps IMO.
I also preferred faction based character models but they can make neon green skins covered in dildos for all I care if it means I don't have to shell out cash for maps

Yeah. There are some guns that work like that (the Winchester 1897 shotgun off the top of my head), but Sten is not one of them.
It's like if you made a trailer for a racing game where a front-wheel drive car was doing burnouts with the rear tires.
That's lever actions in general. Since you're taking your right hand off the grip to cycle, having the bolt extend out the rear is no issue, and actually desirable since you don't need to extend the receiver to fit it. Same deal with bolt-actions, too. There's a reason the Auto-5 has that weird receiver shape to it, and that's because it needed to extend backwards to fit the recoiling bolt. Even the Browning-designed 1897 lets the bolt slide out the back even though its pump action since manual operation means there's no need for any sort of recoil spring, and any injuries are entirely the user's fault.

I'm thinking they're either going to have attachments that look functionally identical like Cold War does, or it's going to be a bunch of made up shit. Either way, you'll be able to pay 24$ to skin the gun to look like a loli while using the worst attachments possible.
If you don't want to quick scope newbs with an Arisaka covered in ahegao lolis then you aren't a gamer.

It. Begins.

I really hate this stuff.

I get it, the Fortnite crowd needs an endless amount of this crap but the single biggest thing that ruined COD WW2 was when the skins and weapons shifted to bunny suits and made up neon colored guns 3 to 6 months after the game dropped.

I'm not looking for realism as much as I'm looking for immersion., I felt like the initial release of COD WW2 the maps, uniforms and weapons all had an authentic feel to them that made the game work.

I wouldn't mind the shark teeth paint job. Reminds me of bombers and such. I might be misunderstanding on second view though. I thought it unlocks in Vanguard, Cold War AND Warzone but I'm guessing it's just CW and Warzone now...

Still...that drum. WTF is that?

Also I find you saying that about WW2 hilarious. I didn't play it, but CoD fanboys have told me that the game was horrible until about 6 months in, but never really say why besides some lead quitting or something.

So the jist is this

The director of WW2 said he wanted to bring COD back to its roots and while thats kind of a meme he actually wanted to bring COD back to the COD 1-3 era. Basically it was too true to the roots so most of the zoomer community who grew up with MW2 or Black Ops hated it. Perks were restricted to classes, sprinting was limited, and ADS speeds were slow. So the community hated it and the head director said "heres your classic COD experience you all wanted!" nevertheless player numbers dropped bad and activision ordered the director to step down.

I didn't mind MW putting custom paintjobs on the guns, it felt very PMC to have guns personalized like that. The problem started when the guns started firing lasers or had ridiculous models like all of the Mastercraft and Reactive guns CW added.

Then there's the issues of some outfits being incredibly dumb and impractical.

My god, what have they done to this PPSH?! They should've waited for post-launch before butchering these things...
The real issue is its a PPsH in US Navy blue, with a nose that looks like it belongs on the A-7 Corsair, but the USN had switched to flat grey at that point in time... It makes literally no sense.

And here's the part where I tell you that Vanguard may not even have a PPSH at launch, and this is likely to remain a CW/Warzone exclusive.

Then again, you also have this abomination with an animated "fire" skin that exists.

They ruined their original intent with Modern Warfare being an immersive, down to earth FPS by adding these ridiculous skins and blueprints.

Wait, are the bullets on the drum just for the aesthetic? The muzzle seems to be smaller than the bullets.

The unlockable outfits in the last CW battle pass were pretty good, they actually looked practical (except for the final reward, the flashy outfit for Jackal).

That reminds me of BFV and how it didn't have the Garand at launch for no reason.

Only reason I could think of is that the game didn't have the United States at launch (did the British use Garands?).

If this game features the Soviets but doesn't include their signature weapon, that'd be one hell of an oversight.
