Well the issue is that by doing so, he (and the founders of the New Blue Party) ended up losing their seats, which I feel is a significant loss in terms of respectability from the public, as it turns your party into a fringe one.

You would think Canada doesn't gulag people but two of the organizers and many unnamed participants of the freedom convoy are still in jail with no bail. This is against Canadian rights. For many, the time spent in jail so far greatly exceeds what any possible punishment would result in. I know it's not gulagging like Russians and Chinese do it, but it's pretty fucking close.

I feel like you could boil down the gun/self-defense debate to this exact comment. I talk to people in this country about our rights to defend ourselves, and I get this fucking baked-in-Cali response: "Oh well why ever would you need to use lethal force?". Every fucking bureaucrat in this shit-hole seems convinced that everything proceeds according to plan, all the time. With that in mind, why would you need guns? No groid in the GTA will lash out toward you. No northern rez-reject will accost you. No white trash will come on your land. And if they do? Call the police and rely on an hour wait time.
