Canada is a failed state

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
There has to be some kind of a way to bypass Quebec and build the pipeline. Or just do away with equalization payment altogether and watch them crawl back and beg for one.

Why isn't there anyone willing to do the hard shit and make the necessary changes. Canada can't be babysitting Quebec forever. Same with New Brunswick.

Is there any tangible benefit to having foreign banks operate here? I saw an Indian bank here once and it left a bad taste in my mouth. Mind you I'm not exactly fond of banks to begin with for obvious reasons.

More banks mean competition which means better products, better rates, better hours, better service for Canadian consumers. But all the recognizably named foreign banks in Canada really do (ie, remember HSBC?) is launder the money TD and CIBC won't touch or are doing their own laundry.

They can certainly open you a very inconvenient account and give service so bad you either never use it or close it right away, but that's intentional.

Smug retarded Canadians, which is most at this point will say American banks operate in Canada and Trump is dumb. Those banks do not from the stand point of customers and normies they are invisible and Trump wouldn't be bringing it up on behalf of American financial interests if it were the case. Of course Canadians will never clue in to Canada being a massive global money laundering hub and refer you to their own smugness.

I hate to admit it, seeing the amount of people unite under Canada is a bit nice; But that doesn't make me forget the last 20 years of our government and Laurentian elite braying about we should feel ashamed of our "colonial" past. Top that off with Trudeau saying we have no identity. If anything, Trudeau should be thanking Trump for his Tariff threats. Many Canadians will suffer from amnesia and only remember him now for "standing up to Trump" on his way out.

Yeah he definitely looks like Captain SaveaHoe for Canadian boomers and newcomers. No 51st state no tariffs. For now at least. Who is Danielle Smith? A traitor. Who is Doug Ford? A village idiot who quits contracts before tariffs. Who is Pierre? A party leader who doesnt keep his dogs on the leash. The Liberals are back on the map and might even be reelected again. Endless pajeets and tax funded social programs. Guess where some of those will be ending up?
If Liberals win for a third consecutive term, it might be legit over for us.
I can see this last minute stunt tricking enough brain dead leafs into suddenly thinking Trudy and his party are pro-Canadian again.

Yes I felt the same way. The petty nationalism is nice but it's all for fake and gay reasons.

I already did try to buy local anyway. Support Ontario wines (Prince Edward County, or North Shore Lake Erie) over California, French, South American or Italian wines.

@AverageRussianSpy at least Trudeau gave a standing ovation to a SS WarHero (Pierre would never do it)

It is crazy how one week politicians can go on and on about how your country doesn't exist and people should feel bad about ever having had any pride in it
then the next week do a 180 saying we do have a country treating nationalism and patriotism like a switch, they can just turn on or off at will.

I think the real tragedy is that it's practically working on some of the dumber people. This will just encourage treating canadians like garbage knowing full well they will back you should it become necessary.

The need to know french to have a govt position heavily slants the government towards Quebec, plus they have a ton of ridings.

They're a cancer, but they're a cancer on the brain stem. Very unfortunate situation.

Make no mistake, Quebec is about as much of a failed state as the rest of Canada. Even one of the old separatists Landry was against the idea of equalization payments. It encourages Quebec to sit on its ass, play subsidy nanny state while making private enterprise fail. Many of these nanny state projects like Northvolt are abject failures.
And to see how the nanny state goes, the period known as the "Grande Noirceur" under Premier Maurice Duplessis might be not so dark after all.

I'm never going to forget that Canada hates normal white anglo males like myself.

I wish Trump's demands in a month to prevent the tariffs would be for Canada to stop wasting money on DEI and to join the US in declaring only two genders - male and female.

How true are the arguments that Canada allies itself with China and is a vector for Chinese Fentanyl smuggling into the USA?
I think its something like 1% of fent comes from Canada.

But on the Chinese alignment, that part is 100% true. Trudeau fetishized China and his way into liberal party leadership was that he was going to be 'our guy to tie us to China and the future'. China has legitimately bought out half the country, our natural resources, and even bribes our politicians.

We literally have Chinese triads here now, and even Chinese 'special police' who have picked up Chinese nationals, to bring them to embassies, and to face non-crimes in Canada, which are crimes in China.

We are largely on the road to becoming a Chinese client state.

Though the fent is fake I guess

China does meddle in our politics, and especially with the Chinese diaspora, which they use to spy on Canada and steal tech. Usually through a mix of bribery and coercion. As for Canada we do have a massive organized crime problem, that we just ignore, and have ignored for ages. As well any res near the border has right of free movement, so the res members can cross without going to customs. So if you were wondering how the native smokes were getting in, that's it. As well as drugs and weapons.

I do suspect that part of the fent accusation is to prevent the fent smuggling from moving north and taking advantage of a porous northern border.

Anecdotally I know people used to take the logging roads in New Brunswick to sneak across the border, buy smokes, booze and ammo and then sneak back across.

If there were a secret plan to separate for the past 100 years, why has the electorate voted for parties stating they are against separation repeatedly? If something makes Quebec separate at this point, it will be the unasked for pajeet invasions sponsored by the Liberal feds or Trudeau's wanton abandon on a bunch of problems.
Well for one, it's not a secret. For two, the Bloc Quebecois is going to win in PQ again, and it is indeed a separatist party (that is, all of the separatist referendums happened under Bloc influence). For three, the separatist provincial parties do not usually win because separatism is generally more of a rural conservative thing there - that is, QC and most of rural Quebec vote for it, but Montréal does not. The latest winners, the CAQ are not outwardly separatist but they are very happy to keep Quebec's administrative government system separate from the rest of Canada's. They refer to themselves as "Quebec Nationalists". I mean, how much more plain do they need to make it? If the opportunity for independence (annexation) arises, they can most certainly be expected to take it.

And four, Quebec was the first to raise the alarm about immigration and they experience immigration differently. Most immigrants (particularly from India) prefer English Canada because India has strong ties to the UK, and not so strong ties to the French. Weirdly, in QC you will see black immigrants from Barbados unlike anywhere else in English Canada.

Agree with all the stuff about failed state though. An independent Quebec would be supremely fucked. They are up to something like 18 Billion neetbux received from transfer payments. The only thing stopping them from fully divorcing would be their huge share of debt and reliance on the west as a leech-province.

Isn't that 1% number just what is seized at the border? If we assume everything is proportional, then sure, but is that really a fair assumption? Just comparing the size of the border, shouldn't it be far more easy to sneak by unnoticed in the north than the south? How do we know the southern border isn't just better at its job? Then factor in the personnel and precursors. Chemicals don't come with tags telling you where they were manufactured.

1% is just the cope.

And it shouldn't matter when that 1% can kill millions of people.
