It's still a step in the right direction. If voters show they prefer more conservative policies, it may influence the decisions made by the ruling party, and means that more conservative parties like the PPC or whatever may have a chance next election.
I think PPC will gain a couple seats this election but the con victory => ppc victory pipeline is cope. Same with lefties hoping lib victory => ndp/green victory. They've been huffing that for years.

I guess we'll know for sure in a few hours. Ultimately I'd like to be proven wrong, that we'll get a con majority and they'll 180 on everything they campaigned on and start mass jeet deportation. One can dream.

At times living here basically feels like a 3rd world country.

Their was a terrible recent ice storm in April that knocked out huge swathes of infrastructure around me.

That was 3 or so weeks ago. And to this day their are consistent and periodic electrical surges. Like fairly fucking intense ones at that. Blew my LED TV completely just this morning.
The old liberal government of the province privatized their electricity which you'd think could make it better. Nah it's been a million times worse
The one thing we had that was consistently good was the power grid and now they've even fucked that up.

I know Ontario is exclusively Bell and Rogers and they are both the scummiest fucking companies ever. There are no other ISPs other than very small ones that usually go out of business within a few years because of ridiculous regulations that do nothing but ensure that Bell and Rogers have a monopoly over internet services.
And even if you do find a non-Robellus ISP, chances are they're leasing the infrastructure from Robellus. I'm currently on the hunt for a new ISP. It's a bummer, since Start.ca used to have amazing customer service, but then they got bought out by Telus, and things have steadily declined to the point that I'm thinking about making the switch to Starlink because there aren't a whole lot of other options around here. Not crazy about the idea, but I'd rather be giving my money to Elon than another cent to a Canadian telecom company.

My final prediction: Conservative Minority Government
Ever since Trudeau resigned, the massive Conservative lead had evaporated as the idea of a technocrat banker becoming PM, especially in the face of someone like trump who most canadians despise because the media has told them to, however my prediction comes down to a few key factors

-. Historically Speaking, when a party has been in for as long as the Liberals have now, they tend to lose even if they switch out the leader (e.g: John Turner and Kim Campbell in 1984 and 1993 respectively)

-. During the course of the campaign, it was revealed that Carney had lied about his phone call with Trump, suggesting that he kept the '51st state' comment in his back pocket if internal polls looked too close for comfort

-. Turnout will likely be higher in this election than in any election since 1993 (<70%) as I predicted earlier. Due to this factor, there will likely be a silent majority effect. High turnout usually means that the incumbent loses

-. The media has manufactured stories about Poilievre potentially losing his home electorate without any real basis, I have already gone over how unlikely that scenario is, but due to how the mainstream media in this country is either directly or indirectly funded by the government they must've got a tap on the shoulder by Carney to write something attention grabbing.

We've reached the finale

Well, there is one good thing in Canada vs the USA.

Internet.

I think the Internet service provider selection is better.

Whenever I hear an American talk about trying to get internet, they are often stuck with one provider in their area.

Last time I lived there rock bottom prices and better service than Bell or Rogers with symmetric upload speeds and no one in the call center or techs are jeets or retards. You also hear Americans complain incessantly about grocery prices, the DMV, healthcare, local government, and nearly anything under the sun etc but like Internet service all of them are predictably superior to what goes on in Canada.

The east is ruled by Bell Canada, I heard they control 90%, well until a few years ago. They had a contract with the government to install fiber, until a new ruling by the CRTC told them that any communications network that is subsidized by taxpayer dollars had to be shared by all ISPs, Bell said if they passed that, they would stop installing new infrastructure. Well, they did. Fiber being installed around the Barrie, ON area came to a halt. I know because I started working for a general utilities company 2 years ago and a lot of their crews that worked with Bell were at home, waiting for work.
Aside from Bell, and Rogers, there is Teksavvy, which often buys bandwith from the other two, though recently they have been installing new fiber infrastructure around the Chattam area and I think around where Poast lives.
In the bigger cities like Toronto, Montreal, Quebec etc. especially in the condos. You get very fast internet at very cheap prices from Beanfield (my old provider, I was paying 55 dollars for 1 gbps with option to have 2 gbps, so crazy!! They bought the company Fiberstream which I was a customer) , Oxio is another up and comer for condominiums in cities.
I don't know much about the west of Canada besides that Telus is spreading fiber like wildfire at very affordable rates. If I heard it right, Edmonton is becoming tech central in Canada.
Every cellphone provider offers wifi hotspots for home. Even smaller providers like Freedom Mobile.
Middle provinces have Shaw and Sasktel but I don't know anything about them. I know Sasktel offers fiber.

I think Teksavvy some time ago laid out information that had Canada's ISP landscape most closely resembling South Africa. The only improvements they've made are so they can get tards hooked on their content apps and incestual relationships with content delivery platforms to control as many retarded people's living rooms as possible. They are not doing it to be the good guys.

I haven't been kicked out of any provider from Torrenting, I do get a lot of emails telling me to stop. I need to figure out how to vpn + torrent.

Your criteria for rating a service seems to only really be piracy because you can't work a $5 seedbox or $4/mo port forwarding-allowed VPN. This is extraordinarily Canadian please tell me you are posting without a VPN and adding yourself to Ottawa's list of confirmed dissidents.

The alternative is proving that the Laurentian Elite can do whatever the hell they want and the people will still vote for them if they wave a distraction in front of them.

This election will be a litmus test. If the Liberals win then the people of Canada have lost their way and cannot be saved. If the Conservatives win it means the people still have an awareness of reality and may actually fight to make things right if and when things get worse.

51st state is my ultimate cope.

This is my 4th federal election in this rural Albertan riding and holy shit I’ve never seen turnout like this. Now, these are pretty inefficient votes (riding is normally 80+% CPC) but usually I just hang with the blue hairs- it’s the middle of the day and lined up out the door, lots of parent-aged voters. LPC is a dead brand here, not seeing the tiny NDP demo (old, broke commies) at all.

Probably not representative but lots of people chatting about separation in line which is unprecedented.

We are sending people home to vote. We want to fuck up this government.

Also interesting: I’m usually the youngest person working the election (late GenX), this time lots of older millennials showed up to work the polls- never seen that, it’s usually mostly retired people, this time they are only about half

Liberals winning would be the ultimate clown pill for me. I will truly give up, stop caring and laugh as the world burns around me and with me in it.
I will be very surprised if Liberals don't win

The TDS syndrome is rampant among Canadians who will vote to keep the same people ruining Canada in charge because orange man bad
