The conservatives lost because they didn't give voters a good enough reason to vote for them once the guy people hated was no longer the person they had to vote for.

PP has no charisma, spits out endless slogans and catchphrases for himself and has little to actually show for his 20 year career in politics.
If the cons gave a shit about actually winning and capitalizing on these projected wins they should have dumped Pierre by the side of the road when he lost in 2024 and get someone the public will actually like and not just support because "well he isn't Trudeau" if you wanna see what happens to party leaders like that go check up on Jagmeet.

Canadians think we're being bullied by America, meanwhile America is really only doing tariffs to compete with China's military productivity, Canada is an afterthought.

America wants to outproduce China over tanks, jet planes, and aircraft carriers, Canada can't even build any of those.

Canadians are retarded and don't see the geopolitical issue of China outproducing America with military equipment which is the primary reason for the tariffs.

Canada does not have the bargaining chip because we do not have a military industrial complex.

America was already removing several manufacturing operations out of China under Biden, this is crosses Republican-Democrat lines, I don't see the Democrats reversing most of the tariffs.

This whole thing literally goes back to Obama years when he brought most of the US army reserves to the Pacific, Trump is just the most aggressive one.

This is completely lost in Canadian political discussions, it's all Trump Derangement Syndrome, it's why trade with China is such a heated topic because can you imagine the chaos if Taiwan ever gets invaded? The USA will get dragged into that via Japan and the Philippines, triggering a US defense treaty. This isn't Ukraine, this is full blown a World War type scenario.

If Pierre did that then we'd have been in Liberal majority with <200 seats, his focus on domestic issues was inarguably his greatest strength while Carney was harnessing the TDS of the cities.

Canada hasn't been militarily relevant since the end of the Second World War to be frank. We have stints in Eastern Europe, and obviously the Middle-East, but that's out of NATO obligations, we have no projection capabilities whatsoever. We can't claim peacekeeper status anymore, we haven't had the budget for that since the 1990's, and Canadians today don't want to budget for that. What is the bargaining chip, exactly?

To me, when you import the Third World, you'll find that you have less stamina to budget troops for peacekeeping missions since you've brought the Third World to your doorstep.
