Owwwwch, that depressingly makes sense. I had no idea they had that policy.The thing with Onimusha is Capcom evidently used to have this policy that a series would only have a set number of entries and then conclude in favor of a new generation of new series.
They stated that Onimusha was only meant to be a trilogy and hyped up the third game as the "grand finale" which is probably why Dawn of Dreams was met with a shrug since they hyped up Onimusha "ending" and then expect people to get excited for another game two years later?, RE4 was originally slated to be the finale of Resident Evil, obviously Capcom changed their minds about this but Onimusha was evidently a victim of this older mindset.
Oh well, we at least did get Nioh, and that can said to be Onimusha's bastard child by the milkman.
