You know the answer. Millennial writing is all about being "subversive" and "meta", and magical girls are prime for being "deconstructed" by some libtard womanchild shitting all over her childhood for not being "qweer" enough.
I wish there was a sad react instead of only feels, 'cause this makes me sad but I don't want to look like I "love" this. If anything, I anti-love this.

Wake up chumps! The second ep of "Pretty Pretty Please I Don't Want to Be a Magical Girl" has hit the Internet.

... 2 mins in, and I'm already getting tortured by the "quirky chungus" humor.

This show is thundering me in the worst possible way. Just full of smug, saucy nonsense “i don’t wanna be a magical girl” neither do I after watching five minutes of this queasy ass slop. It has a Fake subversive tone where it thinks it’s clever for hating the genre but your not any fucking better and never will be just glazing yourself like “haha aren’t we so self aware.” NO? It’s not self aware it’s one of the shittiest saucy indie cartoons to come out lately in a way that makes me uncomfortable like legit everything about it feels slightly WRONG. The pacing is off, jokes landing half a second too late when their even is any what’s the point of a show with no fucking jokes, the dialogue has that forced pepperoni cadence just makes you realize a bunch of autistic people who are mushy worked on this. Also i hate this trend where shows think being miserable or ironic is the same as being smart, we didn’t like it when Spongebob tortured Squidward in every later episode and still don’t like it clearly. Glancing at it I can tell it’s daring you to criticize it so it can go “umm that’s the point actually” and no, fuck off, that doesn’t actually make it good bitch. Sitting there watching it like why am i nauseous? Why am I so annoyed? why do i feel like i need to close the tab and stare at a wall for ten minutes. Oh wait I can tell you why because this premise is BAD and thundering mediocrity. If you work on this shit you should be ashamed bringing more slop to us and just thinking we are going to accept this bullshit, IT STOPS NOW

Why do these millennial writers that rip off magical girl anime only choose to rip-off a few select ones, namely Sailor Moon and Madoka? I don't remember anyone trying to rip off Nanoha, PreCure, or even the edgy and violent Madoka rip-offs like Magical Girl Raising Project or Magical Girl Site.

That would require:
A. Effort
B. Not being a tourist
So no go for them.

If it wasn’t on Toonami or Adult Swim’s saturday block they won’t know anything about it, hence why you always see Sailor Moon brought up but not anything equally large in the magical girl genre like CLAMP’s 90s productions.

LITERALLY diet anime. Why even ape a style if you can't commit to it?
For some reason, Western animators are allergic to actually using the anime style. It's a very befuddling thing, and I'm not sure whether it's due to malice or incompetence. Regardless, there's not a slightest chance of getting any Western media in a "real" anime style, despite the Japanese having no special powers. You'd think that if China or Korea or France can pull it off...

Nanoha was targeted at adult men lol it's for the best these women don't go near it. PreCure is waaaay too big to pin down a way to "homage" and reference to, and nobody remembers when it got rebranded here in English as Glitter Force. As for the other edgy magical girl stuff you mentioned, oh they totally know about them, but there's nothing for them to rip off because in their minds, those shows already rip off Madoka Magica.

That's why Raye of High Guardian Spice is "unique" because she actually grew up with a number of anime outside of the mainstream darlings, namedropping Magic Knight Rayearth alone as an inspiration proved this, and that's why her shitty creation was so frustrating. For someone with love for the medium and genre, she couldn't be arsed to do something her own way without ripping off elements from those shows and others.

It's the cartoon industry's version of the Hollywood reboot. Whatever has nostalgia value for millennials gets moved up the list of pitches.

Sailor Moon ruined a generation of women (and men)

This is the only example I can think of that western animation actually went full anime.

Not sure how big it is now but I know that Dragon Ball was fucking huge in France (Gumball was CN/HB Europe).
Also those crowd shots are hilarious.
dragon ball is huge worldwide, when toriyama died it felt like the world was united for the first time in a long time. you had world leaders coming out to make statements on his death. i'm sure when the mui goku vs moro battle comes out in a few years everyone will drop what they are doing to watch it.

is raye a man or woman i keep seeing people use different pronouns for raye

Yknow, its kinda weird the pokemon anime hasnt really inspired any western 'deconstructions' afaik with how big it was.
With franchises like digimon and yokai watch, its just as much of a genre as magical girls are.
Ig its too much work to make the monster designs from scratch tho...

I'm also surprised that with the popularity of Dragon Ball Z globally, there weren't any Western attempts to "deconstruct" it. Maybe they know that if someone were to try make one, the Latin American community would get on their asses hard in disgust.

As for the lack of Pokémon deconstructions, maybe they weren't made because it would go into PETA-levels of animal abuse territory. The Western "deconstructions" of East Asian media also don't seem to have the extreme violence that Madoka and its rip-off shows have, even if the media was ripe for making a Magical Girl deconstruction show featuring ORANGE MAN as an antagonist that dies in an extremely violent and gory way.
