It's weird because it went from like a religion thing to weirdtumblrobsession around a little over a decade backto fetishizedshit to an absurd degree by industry people and twitter artists thatgetoffended over fucking everything. Cosidering the symbolism behind the hijab I can see why someone could stretchit to "you are sexualizing the child" but like the main people I'd see make that kind of statement are like muslims that view it as more than just a tradition thing. Now, I'm not saying ONLY muslims could getoffended by that shit but yeah.

I'd say this is a kind of simpler way of getting at whatI was trying to say, yeah. There's a weird type of person out there that like gets off to people wearing shit that's supposed to be "modest" if it's from a non european country. There's people that get that way for old european culture shit like that too but like you CANNOT grift that shit in current year.
 
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't one of the reasons why HGS turned out to be shit was because it was hijacked by a tranny taking over this femoid's show and that's how we got this atrocious troon professor scene?

Anyways her whining about her life's choices and financial mistakes reminded me of another tale of people shitting on a piece of work.
Once upon a time people HATED this undertale animation and thought it was the cringiest shit for a good while. Fast forward a couple years and suddenly it's gotten the "Big Chungus" treatment where people have gained an ironic appreciation for this little video to the point of making their own memes out of it.
And throughout all of it, the guy behind SoU never sperged out or hide it away out of shame, in fact as time became kinder to him it seems he really embraced the new meme life his animation has for him.
All this to say is that her show could have meant something, whether good or bad, but the fact that people give zero shits about HGS in current year shows how utterly boring and devoid of any value it ever had. Some shows do get lucky and manage to get a second wind cult following, but there's no way High Guardian Spice will ever get that kind of "High" again in its life.
Also you should've gotten into side gigs or flip burgers just to get some cashflow you dumb bitch, lmao.

No, see the femoid was the tranny, specifically like NB/M poon type that weirdly hated men despite claiming to be one iirc. There was going to be a forced plotline where the wimpy male kid that people actually liked was going to troon out for the "trans rep" of the show and once people found that out they got very angry because it felt very groomer-y with that one scene.

Lady, you are not applying for every job outside of the animation industry. Uber and DoorDash always need more employees. Get a shitty call center job. Your parents seem to like you (not everyone is so lucky), move back in with them. Get a job at your mom or dad's company. Get a data entry job you can WFH with. Do $30 sketch commissions if you have such a loyal fanbase. Take some online finance courses and watch free YT vids about saving money. Stop crying. It's embarrassing.

That's the part that drives me crazy, they ignore the bigotry of anyone with enough perceived oppression points. I think they see the world as only the 40 miles around the big liberal US cities, so all Muslims are just random transplants who don't have the institutional power to throw people from roofs, unlike the Muslims in their own countries.

It wasn't hijacked at all, the Professor is allegedly Raye's Self Insert.

I have such a strange opinion about that show. In a weird way, it's so sincerely terrible that I almost like it. It really was just an ounce of self awareness away from being a legitimately funny/charming show.

This scene is a perfect example of what I mean.


I also didn't follow anything outside of the show, but I can't remember seeing Rayes doing any of the expected, combative/controversial shit that those types of people when there's a negative reception to their work. Because of that I actually almost do feel bad for him.

Like I said, despite the uninspired designs, hamfisted politics, and bread - it legitimately just seemed like a show that the team unashamedly wanted to make.

In an alternate universe, where the show wasn't produced by Crunchyroll (the biggest issue I think a lot of people had with it), it could have had a cult following.

EDIT: As an additional statement to any hopeful creatives that may read this - never sign your dream IP to a company. Make something else and hold on to your "Passion Project".

Question, are they ever actually going to create something original, or do they all know that they’re all such talentless hacks they need to produce actual fanfiction of series that people love.

Go elsewhere. More than anything, the viewers where already there and fuckers like this showed up and attached themselves to it like a leach. Remember people gatekeeping is important.
