I shouldn't be surprised that he referenced the TV show Bates Motel instead of Psycho. It's just funny that he knows who Norman Bates is.
Helps that the show is on the same network as Storage Wars. Chris referenced that show in the Colin exchanges, along with a thousand other shows.

Chris seems to get short with both of them on a few occasions. I think "Al" asks about the kid who punched Chris in elementary "So he just hit you for no reason?" and Chris angrily retorts "NO, I SAID HE WANTED TO BE FIRST OFF THE BUS".

I could be making too much of this but I did notice it happened a few times. Even when people are letting him drone on about himself and giving him encouraging feedback he's still kinda a jerk to them. Though that could be an autistic thing, with the lack of being able to notice tone of voice.

Another thing I noticed is how much it seems it is made clear to Chris that marriage is a serious possibility with Catie. I'm not sure how this squares with her being adamant that these were not "dates" they were on. I know it was likely done to continue with getting information. However the fact that Chris would even think a normal person would discuss marriage after a month or two of online meets and a meetup at Applebees is kinda disturbing. To a normal person that'd be a tip off that it might all be a ruse.

I really liked that explanation. "Kids are stupid, but he had his reason: to be first." It's exactly why a kid would hit another kid in the head.

Well, when this happens, he usually just directs people to the CWCki.

The fuck is Barb feeding into Chris's delusions of having a family? Also why does Chris think Barb is competent of raising them for him?
Chris thinks he's the greatest, most amazing and talented person on the planet. He probably thinks that if Barb raises Crystal and/or Reginald that they'll become people of his amazing caliber.

Yea I mean this whole operation was a successful attempt to honeypot Chris. They definitely framed it as a potential romantic situation, so he does have the right to claim they were "dating" or at least that was what they led him to believe. It works like a charm, because he's so blindly motivated anytime you dangle out the possibility of a relationship in front of him. Not only does he take the bait, but he tries to escalate the relationship to as serious of a commitment as he can. This is obviously, because he's desperate and he wants to get his claws in deep so they can't get away.

That said, it's astonishing how naive he is when it comes to dating. Once a girl talks to him, he considers this relationship in the bag, and she's his forever no matter what. He doesn't even try to come across as a desirable mate or put any effort into demonstrating any value. He doesn't get why no woman would find a man with the life of a perpetual 8 year old unattractive and has no shame putting his child like lifestyle out there on blast. He also seems completely willing to lie/dodge questions concerning Catie's questions about how things would work out if they moved in/married/had children, just to ensure that she does what he wants in the end. Even if he wasn't an autistic lardass tranny trainwreck, he'd still be a scumbag who doesn't deserve the girl. But Chris believes he's the lonely deserving nice guy who gets the girl in the end.

So Chris' favorite old school Sonic game is Sonic CD. Also happens to be the only one where Sonic is rescuing a damsel in distress. How about that.

That was amazing when Chris decided to yell SEGA when the word genesis popped up in the conversation. I bet it's not the first time he's done that.

Yea he seems to feel the need to throw that out there so you know he loves Sega and has brand loyalty. He also thinks he's being hilarious, but even with just the audio you can see Catie/Al's deadpan stare back at him.

To be fair, a lot of the marriage thing was my idea and prompting. I was curious to see how Chris would handle the situation, the scenario, if a woman was willing to get married to him. It gave me an opportunity to ask a lot of interesting questions. My line of thought was, "OK Chris, you whine about wanting a sweetheart all the time, suppose you've got a girl who's willing to marry you, so can you really handle it? Can you live up to being a husband?" Note my asking questions about childcare, health insurance, and Chris's lack of employment, can Barbara handle children around the house, etc. Even if Chris is telling us what we already knew, his answers are still pretty entertaining.

This first meetup on August 31 (which we're listening to now) was agreed upon by both sides as a "date", but before and during the later meetup in early December, it was made quite clear to Chris that it was not a date, but he didn't seem to accept that.

What's Catie's attitude of this? If I was a girl I'd have deemed it a little too close to comfort to feign being a love interest to someone as clingy as Chris for "lulz," especially after reading about how touchy feeling he got with Megan.

Well... Al was around, so at least the most ridiculous aspects of "touchy" would be under penalty of JERK.

At first I thought it was dumb that they miked Al, because what if Chris and Catherine decided to talk in private? But then I realized that Catherine had decided that under no circumstances would she allow herself to be alone with Chris.

The second "date" is at a bowling alley; I imagine it's going to be much more difficult to make out what everyone is saying, what with all the moving around and the echoing locale. I just hope we can get the confrontations between Chris and Catherine when he tried to kiss her.
