It's honestly impressive. It would have been way too easy to set up Denji as just an annoying perv used for cheap/easy comedy considering that his goal in life is to just get laid.

The uncivilized pervert character works a lot better when the reader has a salient, believable explanation for how and why he got to be that way.
 
Denji is just the bestest boy next to Pochita.

Damn I did not expect Fakesaw Man to show up, and given his behavior, I can see that its probably a deranged Chainsaw Man fanboy. Personal theory is that the Fakesaw Man probably was inspired by Riddler in the new Batman movie whose a crazy Batman fan. This is based on Fujimoto's love of capeshit movies and how the school shooter girl had elements o that same character.

Finally caught up with this series. Denji is great, he's such a refreshing protag and I love how his goals are so simple. Also Pochita is adorable. The anime's opening has been stuck in my head. Wasn't feeling part two at first but Asa has grown on me, lowkey hope she and Denji get together.
I was surprised at how expendable the characters are, Aki and Power in particular getting killed off wasn't something I saw coming. I know Aki was screwed either way but it still got me. I guess you could argue their character arcs were complete though. As for Makima, good riddance. Her becoming the "twist" villain was pretty obvious.
