Maybe people just don’t really fear death all that much anymore since it’s just happening all the time. Hell, the city is wrecked to absolute shit and people are still going to school as normal. And lack of fear means a lack of strength.

There's also the fact that we don't know if she's a proxy for Death given the month of prophecy is not there yet. But her being weak due to a lack of fear makes sense since people would want death more than anything.

The prophecy doesn't specify what the catastrophe is, just that a fuckton of people die at a certain point. So the Death devil may or may not have anything to do with it.
 
I assume she's going to inexplicably turn the tables with some new power next chapter. That's usually how it goes.

Sony confirmed to be distributing the Reze film in the US, US release is going to be on October 29th.

Honestly surprised it would be this early, thought it would've had a December-January release given how anime movies tend to get released.

HUH?!?!?!

If the "Death Devil" is in actuality the Famine Devil, then how did she resurrect absorbing the lifeforce of other beings, and why is she claiming that she saves people from their suffering via death?

(Also, that last panel is... something else.)

Yeah a reread of Part 2 has to happen now.

It definitely explains how this character had so many devils as henchmen.

Specifically, it explains why she had the Guillotine Devil as a henchman, and how she was strong enough to have Falling and Fire as well. The actual Famine devil is weak because famine is basically obsolete in modern society.

My current operating theory is that there's no Fire Devil either. What the character we knew as Fami said about trying to prevent the prophecy is true -- she's trying to kill herself via Yoru first, and handing out power freely with the goal of weakening herself.

Edit: I'll also note, we haven't seen her deliberately breaking contracts yet. I suspect, if what we know now is accurate, she'll rescind all the 'Justice Devil' contracts at some point, to get hit with the backlash of breaking 100k contracts at once.
