I like most of Charlie's videos quite a bit, but his streams are absolute torture thanks to the retards with room temperature IQ populating the chat.

His entire gimmick was that he was the cuck in the corner while all the other members talked about shit. He’d have a quip here and there but for the most part he was basically forced to talk on the OP, the others would say something like “well Charlie how about you read this one!”. I’ll always remember when Kaya literally compiled a graph of who speaks the most in the podcast, and Charlie was always dead last next to Kaya (as the other boys barely let him talk out of fear of him mentioning something “too far”).

I wasn't going to reply to this but it wouldn't leave my mind, esports is quite literally one of the most retarded "investments" you can make, it is genuinely a money black hole.

You might as well throw your savings at scam coins and pray you get lucky if one of them moons, at least you would turn a profit.

Best case in esports is that you break even and can pay your staff.

If I recall Charlie himself has even admitted it's not profitable but he loves it so he just keeps pumping in cash.

Look at where a lot of the top tier orgs are these days, sure you have some outliers, but most of the well known orgs of 10 years ago have gone under due to financial trouble, or are being kept afloat with duct tape and cardboard they purchased with the cash injection provided from a crypto company because they were so desperate they had to sign the contract.

No one with critical thinking believed this was going to end his channel. But no, people won't forget about this in 3 weeks. Contrary to popular belief megachannels virtually never just shut off overnight due to some controversy. Instead it's reputational damage that stays long term preventing future growth which has dire consequences in the long term, as most channels depend on that due to the high churn rate of people already subscribed leaving.

Is this going to single handedly torpedo his channel and he'll become destitute on the street? Of course not. But it's definitely going to affect him long term in a negative way and he knows this, which is why he's reacting the way he is.

Oh, it's 1000% a money pit but I don't think he's gotten into one of the really expensive ones like CS2, LoL or Dota yet, so it's not burning a significant hole in his pocket yet. Just mentioned since it is one of his biggest ventures outside of videos and merch, though not a profitable one.

I'm shocked his video already reached 7 mill views in a day, it's been the second biggest vid he's had in months only surpassed by the MrBeast's pedo friend one.
