For those interested I recommend to start reading here:

The city cited unsafe conditions in and around the Black Lives Memorial Garden, including vandalism of park restrooms, drug use and camping.

The city also removed tent encampments from the park Wednesday, marking the 76th time it had done so at Cal Anderson in 2023, she said.

That article says so much about what is wrong with Seattle.

Pretty much. And of course no mention of the black teenagers who were shot by Chaz security forces.

When you listen to the hysterical shrieking, you can see how they just lie ridiculous lies, because they know nobody will ever push back on the lies. There was no coalition of black farmers. There was no community effort, these people are all lazy as shit, and growing vegetables takes constant effort and experience. That patch of a dozen Home Depot plants didn't feed hundreds of people. It didn't even feed one person once, because nobody went out and watered it every week, nobody put pesticides on it, and nobody ever paid attention to the planting directions on day 1. Nobody did shit, and the current plants have been dead for months now. But these people are screaming on social media like somebody burned down a food bank.

Seeing CHOPistan news again makes me remember the only good moments of 2020. Never forget how quickly the anarchist utopia was taken over by a Soundcloud rapper turned warlord.

A monument against the tyranny of white supremacy! Who killed two black kids then actively covered it up while filming themselves in the act.

Here is a documentary that summarises what happenned at CHAZ/CHOP.

While I am already no friend of anarchy (https://kiwifarms.st/threads/anarch...you-believe-in-it.116943/page-2#post-20092728), I am surprised a the way the documentary ends up being a case study against anarchy. Anarchists, notably anarcho-capitalists, claim that government is literally the root of all evil. After all, governments ole priorities are its maintenance and expansion, which naturally leads to the oppression and exploitation of those outside government. If you find cases where anarchy fell into ruin, you can always find a way to trace the problems to a government. (Haití's anarchy being a cannibalistic mess can be blamed on France forcing Haití nto deb then lashing out at Haití after Haití demanded that France pay its dues of exploitation and the United States enabling France's backlash and exploiting Haitians themselves.)

CHAZ/CHOP had no such excuses. The government was not just approving of the new autonomous zone; the government let CHAZ/CHOP run on the resources of the government without even taxation. These people are honestly not poor; they look rathe rich. They also have at least a high school education, most have a colleg education, and learned a lot about past cultures, even if through a Marxist lens. They knew about how human infrastructure should work and had at least some willingness of maintaining that infrastructure. The location was already peaceful and free of many dangers of nature. They also had a common ideology of sorts: 'Capitalism and government are fascist and therefore bad; everyone should just practice the absolute minimum of human decency and compassion, especially towards minorities of all kinds!!' If you wan to get really racist, you can claim that most everyone was of European heritage and everyone was thoroughly educated into European culture.

Despite all of these advantages, the only time when CHAZ was orderly was the time when a strongman ruled. Back then, despite the many advantages, CHAZ fell into disarray, which created not only a rule vaccum but also an infrastructure vaccum; he could take hold because n one can or was willing to stop him. (His being African may have had something to do wi the permission he got.) Once he left by his own accord, things went back to the same disarray they had. Turns ou tha their ideology was too simple and reactive: they had common enemies, bu they refused to define 'human decency and compassion', which they claimed was 'obvious'. This ended up with people not just highjacking trucks and doing driving tricks in public spaces but also Africans engaging in gun violence. In fact, when the governmen tried to aid them, the others refused to le the government intervene, which led to a bunch of Africans dying by gun violence... essentially showing th effective hypocrisy of the movement. Opposed to my previous claims in this thread, the government shut down CHOP after the deaths have happened, though more African death by gun violence happene during this process.

Of course, there can still b excuses; you can say that a society wher everyone follows anarcho-capitalism would be the most successful. However, CHOP/CHAZ should be studied extensively because the ideal conditions of CHAZ/CHOP show that at least a lot of problems of anarchy are inheren to anarchy itself.

notably anarcho-capitalists
Say what now? All the anarchists I've ever known including the usual Antifa ones, were Anarcho-Socialist or Anarcho-Communist. All of which hate anarcho-capitalists. They might, grudgingly, allow an Anarcho-Syndicalist to walk past so long as he crosses the street. Anarcho-capitalists are pretty much Libertarians in America. Maybe Objectivists.

Mine are the other way; pretty much all of the anarchists I know are anarcho-capitalists who would claim that an archo-socialist or anarcho-communist would be self-contradicting by utilising force on someone who would not go wi the commune.
