This is probably still relevant to the pic being discussed so Imma just leave this here.

I wouldn't mind sitting around in that room for a few minutes to make an autistic kid have a happy birthday.

But not this room. Oh, god, not the room at 1:44: "what was the living room"): [youtube]Y_kcgnwfoBQ[/youtube]

Just look at the difference! :o

And that horde carnage took like what, less than 10 years?

I think the birthday pics were taken at Bob's apartment in Richmond, remember, these are Chris' Richmond high school gal pals.

You know, given the amount of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Chris watches, a show that is literally about friendship, a show that spells its lessons out, Chris seems to have a pretty twisted view of what it means to be a good friend.

^Well, he understands the lessons, but the problem lies in his inability to relate them to himself. To him, all of those "treat your friends well and always be there to support them" aesops are things that other people are supposed to take to heart and use to support him.

Good catch!

Also, just to add, Chris likes to fancy himself as an especially "caring, empathetic" person. Because, for whatever reason, that's built so strongly into his self-identity, he never questions if that's actually the truth (and indeed rages if you suggest he just wants china). He wears it like he does his [cwc]medallion[/cwc] and [cwc]class ring[/cwc].

Chris seems to believe he is the exception to any rule or law. In fact, he thinks it to be so obvious that he rarely feels the need to point it out and just assumes everyone knows it. Naturally anyone who tries to hold him to any sort of standard whatsoever is a troll.

On the other hand he might have a limited grasp of friendship being something that benefits both parties, but his ego distorts this. He may think that the other person showering him with gifts and praise and Chris himself bestowing the joy of his presence is a fair exchange.

To him, a friend would listen to his cries for pity. But yet he would never return the favor. As soon as someone may have an inkling of trouble, he'd just rationalize it as "if you think you've got it so bad, wait till you hear my sob story. "

That, or just pretend to listen to their problems and act sad, when really he doesn't fully understand the problems they are having. I think he does this a few times in the mailbag, but I'd have to take a good look just to make sure... And the Wiki is down..

I think rather that Chris doesn't believe he is the exception to any rule or law, but that he is always in compliance with any rule or law. If you tell him he's fucking up, his response isn't, "So?" it's "No I'm not!"

i wonder if he still talks to sonichu as if it were his imaginary friend.

But with just a dash of emphasis on "if I am breaking the rule, then of course I have a valid reason to do so!"

That...that can't be a real C&H strip...?

It's not. I think a fan made it because the font is different from the real one.

I guess now that I'm a member, I should try to contribute...

What if Chris wanted to be your online friend? Like... sure, maybe it would be a somewhat of a one-sided friendship, but would you consider it? Alternatively, if he also came to you for help, would you help him?
