Not a very thorough comparison, he wouldn't even be considered an equivalent to a modern "ween" for a start because his attempts in trolling Chris by pretending to be an entirely different person ended up being successful and he completely deceived Chris and swindled around his perception of how a women behaves around men. This was all the while Bluespike was just being Julie to poke fun at Chris, and wasn't actively going out of his way to make a misery of him, more or less just making him look like a horney misguided fool. Honestly the internet and online culture was in a very different place even a decade ago, targeted harassment was nowhere near on the same sort of level and scale then when you compare to the utter garbage trolling attempts entail today.

Bluespike also relied on the other PVCC members to even stay within Chris’s range of contact, he was only kept around because he played Julie and had his complete trust. I don’t know what the fallout was among the “inner circle”, but there were way, way more people contributing to the schemes than people realize, usually by submitting suggestions on PVCC. You just had to know the right people to talk to and bam you’re in this IRC with dozens of members like the Discord Chris is sequestered in right now. He would pretty much listen to every single message in regards to what to say, so each video had the contributions of a lot of people condensed into a 3-4 minute vignette of Chris shouting.

It wasn’t really all that organized and a bunch of shitheads here or there got through the filter, Bluespike being one of them. Situations like Ivy were incidental, unless I’m wrong on that one; The “cover story” was supposed to be some rando who wanted a video shoutout for a friend that Chris latched on to because she was a young female, but I’m 60% convinced it might’ve been several people.

i don't even want to watch the series anymore. it's gotten too bland and repetitive and that isn't geno's fault. Chris's life is like a bad anime. every season there's a new troll, a new "sweetheart" and more sadness. i almost just want to watch the series from the beginning to see more of yellow tinged sweater chris and less of weird troon chris. it just isn't fun anymore

I mostly agree, except the last few episodes finally got into the era where he was wishing death on everyone he disliked and anyone who even associated with people he disliked (like wanting to kill Mimm's/Lucas' gf).
Maybe it's just my opinion but that was like, the highlight of Chris for me.

One of the things I always found interesting was the early trolls and fake girlfriends actually tried to help Chris more than his parents did. There's this myth that every troll was BlueSpike, but if you go through and actually listen to the calls, or read the correspondence, there was a lot of times of the various trolls/gfs actually trying to get Chris to do the right thing, but at every turn, Chris would weasel something in, or do it exactly one time, and never learn. A phony girlfriend would tell him to eat better, he'd have one meal of vegetables, then just lie about eating them. He'd make one video "jogging", then after that just lie.

Every. single. one of these people have harmed Chris, and he would have been 100% better off in life if none of them ever interacted with him. Period. They're bleeding hearts? They can go volunteer with the thousands of people in desperate need close to them. People targeted Chris for a specific reason and you're a fool if you believe it was because God touched their kind heart with benevolent love. We all know why we're here let's not rely on the merge too.

There were a couple here and there that gave him some sound "life advice" inadvertently while he verge of messing with Chris, but it wasn't ever the main reason why the trolls ever intended to engage with him to begin, for like 98% of them.

A thing I don’t think is well documented is that Bob was a hardcore animal lover and he once said to more than just myself that “I’d never be a vegetarian or anything but I can’t stand people who treat dogs and other pets without kindness.” He really wasn’t that bad of a guy and a lot of Chris’ bad habits aren’t Bobs fault. If I had to pick any that are his fault, it’s an inflated ego and a fast food addiction, which Bob had also admitted to.

Chris' biggest bad habit is 1000% Bobs fault. And thats that he would do literally anything for some pussy. You really think bob would be with Barb if he had some self control and could go "i shouldnt subject myself to this fat tub of shit just so my cock can feel good for a few minutes"

Knowing what we do about Barb she probably humiliated Bob the same way Chris was humiliated by his online GFs which would contribute to him never saying "this is fucked" until way too late.

Id say a big part of his autism and lack of social cues can be attributed to his shitty parenting give him the worst example of what a couple is/how people treat each other. He might as well be fucking feral.

Edit: i still believe if we could find divorce records from Bobs first marriage we could learn more about why he was such a lazy dad. I doubt he was much better with his first kids. Also sonething had to happen to get Bob away from the first wife, that state was still a fault divorce stare IIRC, and Bob sudden deciding to divorce only to fuck a less attractive younger woman from hundreds of miles away is weird. For all we know Bob is a boomer Ethan Ralph.

I feel like this is a toss up. I agree that a lot of the trolls were in it to fuck with somebody that they thought they could get laughs out of. But I don't think they were intending to harm Chris. They were just in it for the lulz, trying to make a guy out to be an asshole in front of an audience. Things like the Father Call was just a guy going through all of Chris's personality traits with him and pointing out why they aren't good.

Not just that, but I feel like a lot of these trolls didn't harm Chris. Chris is still to this day a hard nut to crack. Even after all these years we still have no idea what makes him tick or what actually does get through to him. Despite being some of the most heinous shit done to him, he was left completely unfazed by all the BlueSpike shit. Immediately afterwards he was back online looking for another girlfriend.

I think a lot of people excuse the fact that yes, Chris was and still is being bullied. Because it used to be pretty funny. But people act like Liquid or ABL having the most well thought out ideas for bullying and getting some of the funniest reactions means they weren’t harmful. I don’t think that most of the early trolls were fully aware of how toxic the internet could be or how fucked Chris actually is, but kasey telling him to go on walks and eat healthier doesn’t excuse the hours of her degrading him as his ‘friend’
