Chris-Chan: A Comprehensive History

I'm more surprised Bob didn't cut all the internet. At that point, Bob knew full well and experienced Chris' online antics. With Chris turning tomgirl, it must've come to a complete shock to Bob. I think Bob believed that the trolls tricked Chris into turning tomgirl, but ended up going along with it since there was nothing left for the old man to do other than throw the homo card at Chris. If I was Bob, I would get rid of the internet, chuck the computer away, and just close the family out, once and for all.

I think before the bullshit started, he saw the computer as a tool to help Chris. Chris made his own website and put his art up, that's pretty innocent. Probably showing Bob all the stuff he could do on it, leading Bob to suggest a CAD degree. No doubt Chris was in chat rooms at night, but in those days you weren't getting doxxed as easily as now. TV + vidya + internet probably kept Chris occupied instead of kicking stuff around the house and yelling. He was probably impressed Chris was making videos and uploading them, just never having seen the ones like Chris putting his dick in the snow.

When the trolling started I'm sure everything Bob heard was one-sided and thought they were picking on his autistic son because he was young at heart with his little cartoon mouse thing. By the time it was becoming a big issue like the home tours and the trooning, Bob was too tired to fight it. The internet, like vidya and TV, were babysitters that didn't eat your food and Bob just limped to the finish line while praying for the best.

Other than making him, the biggest mistakes Barb and Bob made were not putting him in special ed and not taking away his internet when they saw it was more than just a randon lynch mob.

He was in special ed. But, yeah, they fucked up by not agreeing to send him to the autism school where he could've gotten more specialized help. Though it probably wouldn't have done much good because Borb would've still enabled his behavior anyway.

The main likeness I see in Chris and Bob is the monologuing. When we listen to the recording of Chris with his "date" at the mall who was only there to record the whole thing, and Bob did all the talking, boy did he *ever* do all the talking. I did this, I made that, I invented the other, braggy braggy blah blah blah. Very much like father, like son.

to be fair to Bob, Bob was a retiree living out his senior years. If you look at the way seniors live out the twilight years, they speak of what they have done in their lives and the youngs typically listen to them as a means of adoration - not a behaviour to copy. Bob was thinking of his legacy by the time Chris entered the high school years.

Unfortunately for Bob, he married Barb.

Wow this episode was full of some fucked up shit. Most if it was a new one on me and I'm a well established Christorian. Also I'm honestly sick to death of him whining about the trolls being the reason he can't function in the real world or be seen as something other than a Pariah. There's that, there's also chris acting no better than the evil trolls he claims to despise with trying to dox them, extort money from them, and the way he reacts to Tito offering to be his slave you almost get the impression he'd be okay with it. In a lot of ways, it was no different than what the Idea Guys did to him later on. (I'm not excusing their behavior, just noticing a similarity.)

He had wanted to do that to Snyder and Megan for a while, he just didn’t know exactly what crime they were committing. I’m probably the person who defends Bob most on this forum but this was likely him trying to figure out a way to keep his son in a social setting and Barb wanted to figure out a way to sue. My two cents anyway. Also Bob did have paranoia about people seeing his son as just being retarded.

The actual plan too was to start a civil war between lolcows where they all called each other out. It sort of did happen but Bobs death led to trolling plans ceasing. Still to this day ADF hates Chris and yet Chris probably doesn’t even remember who ADF is.

The thing that has me scratching my head is that the parents were willing to go along with it because they refuse to believe Chris' bad behavior.

I guess Chris believed the only way he was getting back into The Game Place was to get Snyder removed as manager. I don't think he realized that even if he did manage to be allowed back inside, his entire history of being a nuisance to the store would've been a commonly known thing to the regulars and they probably would've refused to play any TCGs with him. Seems like that's all Chris was ever content to do: sit around and shuffle his cards, look at his deck layout, and maybe one or two middle schoolers would approach him for a match if there weren't any other players available.

That... makes a lot of sense. Bob did get chris to change his majors and tried to keep him on a path where he could have something resembling a normal life and Barb... well, was the bitter money grubbing harpy she's always been. Clearly the wrong parent died first.

I agree with you on Barb. Bob, I don't know. I don't know how he reacted to when Chris was kicked out of PVCC, I would assume that Bob would go "this establishment is persecuting/harassing my son - don't make me sue you" or move him to another college like he did with elementary school. College was a waste. What did Bob and Chris do to keep his interest in CADD? What did they do while Chris was suspended? What did they do during the 4 years to earn that CADD degree? Even though there wasn't much to do with an associates in CADD, I assume that Bob tried to get Chris a job in GE. It's a waste and all Chris wanted to do was just find a sweetheart in his college years, and receive and spend the tugboat.

I think Bob would most likely have been better off if he college schooled Chris from 14BLC.

Geno picked a good cliffhanger spot to end on. The vindictive smugness on Chris's face when he thought he finally held the axe over those danged dirty trolls and just couldn't WAIT to grind it was a sight to behold.

Every time you start feeling bad for Chris as he's made to jump through the most autistic bizarre hoops in the hope of some sweet sweet china at last, he reveals one or more of the really unpleasant sides of his personality.

Shit makes me sad because the current arc was going to be the funniest. Finally the sweetheart shit was going to end and he was going to get smug and fuck with other lolcows. ADF was front and center on that shit too, the battle would have been glorious because looking at ADF, you'd want Chris to win.

And by god did he need a good win.
